Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe bathroom was a bit small and the street noise could get really loud in the room. I think it was overpriced, though.
Beautiful lighting in the room, nice toiletries, overall nice staff, very comfortable room and nice design. Glass door on the shower is a major plus.

First, I love most Kimpton’s. The amenities and small details are usually wonderful. This location the amenities were excellent. . I utilized the free bicycles for a ride in Central Park. Enjoyed the social hour and took advantage of the free coffee in the morning, which was delicious and a huge saving of $30 for the trip since coffee nearby was $5 a cup! The bed was amazing and the room very good sized for NYC! The staff is knowledgeable about the city and happy to help you. We especially enjoyed meeting Davon at the front desk who made us feel very welcome and exceeded our expectations!

United StatesI felt the staff didn’t go above and beyond. When I asked questions they seemed annoyed, put out, or frustrated. It happened with various staff members. It also took a very long time to clean the room. We left the room at 8:30 am and when we came back at 2:00 it still wasn’t made. I also didn’t like that the staff made us give half a tip for baggage storage up front. That’s never been done in any IHG or NYC hotel I’ve stayed in.
Large rooms, fairly quiet and comfortable beds. The 5 pm social is a nice touch as is the flavored water.

New ZealandBeautifully appointed bathrooms but on the small size. This was a minor thing in what was a fabulous hotel.
Gorgeous new hotel with lovely lobby for a morning coffee or an afternoon wine. Location right in the heart of the theatre district and only a few blocks away from Times Square. Subway lines almost on the doorstep and many of the top attractions within walking distance. Beautiful spacious and modern rooms and loved the fact the double rooms had two Queen size beds. Water dispenser on each floor meant we weren’t paying a fortune in bottled water daily. Supermarket/deli a few doors up was handy for supplies.
