Almost everything and location was awesome

The poolside service was not good. The shower curtain was dingy and dirty. The tub looked dirty. The grout between the tiles was gross and full of soap scum. The bathroom faucet and counters were dirty. The border of the mirrors were dirty. The toilet paper is cheap. The toilet paper holders were in far away or awkward places. The balcony view sucked. The balcony furniture was hard and not attractive. The room was missing the small bench to put a suit case on. We had to ask for coffee twice. The bed was very hard and hurt my back. The bathroom doors are terrible the bathroom doors do not close all the way so there is a lack of privacy. The mirror is hidden behind the bathroom door. There is no ventilation in the bathroom. The hand soap did not feel like it was cleaning. It felt like it just stuck on my hands. I used the shampoo to wash my hands.

I liked the breakfast. I liked the pool. I liked the lobby and common areas of the hotel. The history and museum vibe was nice. The shops at the hotel were nice too. Elevators were fast. The bell hops were good. The lady managing the restaurant was great. The pool towel service was good. The parking lot was good and the parking card was convenient. The air conditioning was good.

The area is a little bit noisy, due to the port, some evening the locals make a street party with very loud music until late night. The rising number of homeless people in the tourist areas is worrying here also.

One of the best beach hotel in Big Island in the heart of Kona. The beach is small but clean and is connected to the hotel, almost unique experience in the USA. There is a 1 mile long beach walk with lot of good restaurants. The excellent submarine trip goes directly from the hotel.

The beach and pool are tiny - if you have a gluten intolerance don’t expect to eat at the restaurant or beach bar. You have to find a spot somewhere in the town. They don’t clean your room every day for the high price requested.

Perhaps I was unrealistic going in about what $800/night would buy. I thought maybe a 3rd or 4th floor with at least partial view of the sea. Instead it bought a small 2nd floor room above the asphalt roof of the kitchen and a view of the parking lot. “Hey, there’s our rental car!” And I assume the additional $22/night amenities fee was for the dumpy crowded pool. At least the bed was comfortable so there’s that.

Tired rooms, scratchy sheets. Paid extra for disappointing lack of ocean view. Pre covid-19 Fairmont Orchid prices for Quailty Inn.

Nice staff. Decent pool area, clean, and Swimmable beach. Decent snorkeling reef with spinner dolphin deeper to right past pier.

The room was poorly cleaned, we found hair on the towels and we woke up to a massive cockroach near our heads. What a nightmare!

I am sorry to say there were issues. The shower glass and interior was dirty. The bathroom door isn't a door it's two small sliders that don't shut, so there is no real privacy. Housekeeping brought towels Monday but didn't clean. The only day they cleaned the room was Wed and we stayed 6 nights. We paid extra for an ocean view but couldn't sleep until after 3 AM because of all the street noise emanating from the bar down the street (which isn'tthe hotel's fault but should have been disclosed). And construction on the roof below our room started at 6 am. It would have been nice to know about the noise before we booked.

The hotel has always been a family favorite for its location. It's right on a lovely bay that is great for all ages. The pool and bar area are great places to hang out and order lunch and drinks. The beds are comfortable. The staff was very friendly, with one exception.

Bathroom doors did not close completely-one inch gap between doors when they were closed. Only one towel hook so it was hard to hang up 3 or 4 towels for re-use. Also no hooks or towels bars on the balcony to hang up towels or swimsuits to dry so we had to lay them in the chairs and table in the balcony.

Locations was great. Elena (housekeeping), Vina (cabana attendant) and Dale (massage) were friendly and provided excellent customer service.

Our room had some cleanliness issues (dried oatmeal on the wall! carpet stains), and there are some weird design problems like the shower being too short for adults, you can see in the sliding bathroom door (and hear everything), there were almost never pool towels available when we wanted them, the parking fee, the front desk never answered the phone, the pool is small and poorly lit in the evening, the bar closed at 10…so many things. Disappointing for the price. You’re only paying for a location.

The location was good, right near the pier and shops we could walk to.

Our "ocean view" was a really a partial ocean view with a full view of the garbage dumpsters in room 567. Old carpets. Old bathtub style shower.

Good breakfast buffet. Fast elevators. Nice staff.
