How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It is what it is! A convenient no nonsense inexpensive place to stay at while in the area. Not too far from South Bend.
Location is convenient to major roads. The new owners/management have painted the exterior and are working to make the whole place nicer.

Hallway carpeting and stairway hand rails were dirty. No refrigerator in room and double queen room was tight. Staff seemed friendly but difficult to understand due to language accent, both on phone and in person.
The price was right. The beds were nice, but high. No refrigerator in room but there was a microwave. Nice place if all you're looking for is to crash at night.

We saw mouse turds on the floor by the bed. I am only 5'5" tall. My wife is shorter. The king size bed was tall. We had to use a chair to climb onto it. The refrigerator was luke warm. Bathroom was good. It need some kind of bath mat or anti-slide added to the tub. It was slippery. For a low cost hotel, it wasn't bad.
The TV and AC worked. The rest of the room as ok. It was close to our destination. Only 2 minutes away. There was a Wendy's next door. The New York Fried Chicken was open late. It was about 5 minutes away. We just had chicken breast. It was good.

The bed was so high off the ground it was really difficult to get in it and impossible to sit on it, which made the whole room slightly uncomfortable - and I'm a fairly tall person. They must have put a new bathtub facade over the old bathtub - when I took a shower I felt like I was going to fall through the new layer. They also don't have any ADA compliant rooms.
The room was pretty nice, and it was a good value for the money.

Thought price was high for room without fridge, microwave, blow-dryer and tv that had a lot of static. Didn't offer even a complimentary breakfast. Paid $187 for one night.
Room was clean and bed was nice. Location was good.

The young lady who was at the front desk when I got ready to check out was a little impatient with me her attitude was not good..so I called the inn once I arrive home from my trip and spoke with the manger I believe he understood what I was trying to explain to the young lady.
No breakfast at the inn....eateries near the inn. It was my second stay at the inn 1/16-17/22 and my recent stay 5/29-30/22. Although I did not get the original booking price for the room the price was still quite low and the manager of the inn was very patient which I appreciate.

The room was TINY. Like so small. The hallways were gross. Didn't look like they had been vacuumed in weeks. The area was a little sketchy. The doors didn't lock or require a key card so anyone could come in and out at any hour. Our room smelled so bad. I don't even know how to describe it but we had to go to Walmart and buy air freshener.
Desk clerk was nice. Bed was comfortable enough.

Besides, interrupting an important phone call to introduce a microwave into the room, they were extremely late in room cleanings... leaving cleansing liquids in the bathroom, and did not leave any replacement (difficult to open) shampoo packs.
