Where do I start, reserved 2 rooms, 1 had a card key, the other was SUPPOSED to have a card key, but had an actual key, which was hard to open the door. There were so many hazards in the room. Cords taped together, the AC unit was plugged into an extension cord (pictured) our family we visited said there were supposed upgrades to the hotel, but a coat of paint and some new sheets doesn't constitute an apgrade.

The price was literally the only good thing about our stay.

The ice machine was behind a very dirty little window. I almost didn't want to touch the window. I couldn't get the TV to operate. May have been dead battery in remote.

I didn't like that I couldn't find anyone at Check in time, and I had been traveling (and it had been a bad trip too), plus I have a bad leg and right now on crutches part time, and I was super tired! Finally I found the lady who cleans rooms. She (I guess) could check me in, but she said my card was declined. So this was a big worry to me! She did put me in a room anyway - I wasn't sure I should with my card. declined (although it had been working and there was enough money in my account which I knew,). I was not able to relax and finally spoke with the owner, who said he would run my card again at 5:30. But I thought what happens then if it doesn't run? I spoke with my bank who told me everything is just fine. Then I spoke with Booking com who spoke to the owner, and finally they said my card ran. If you read this, you can see I spent most of my time very worried and anxious and could not relax Also I requested a private room. I was placed right by the front desk and also by a staff member and nothing is private about that! I felt just so nervous all my time there. The stay was not relaxing and nerve racking for me I came there because this was a place I stated with for YEARS as I traveled. It was always easy and private, so I thought I could really just relax a night there. (But no). (i really need to know I am staying in a place that is paid for, and to have a private place where I don't have to be bothered with any person and I don't feel observed or under scrutiny - so I can just relax!! This is MORE important to me than a pretty room or breakfast).

Under new management the room was pretty nice. They had started a breakfast although I didn't stay for it because of some other issues which made me uncomfortable.

Internet needed improvement. I was unable to have a virtual job interview I needed. This has happened to me twice in hotels now.

Very nice people. My room was nice, clean and comfy. The people of the town of Oakley were very nice. I liked how my room opened into a little courtyard in the back. I had a problem with losing my car keys one day and they were patient and kind to me. Yes I found my keys.

Manager told me when we got there that she gave our king room to someone else but says she upgraded us to a double queen. I ordered a king and called 2 days in advance to confirm a King bed and also my wife called to confirm 4 hours before we showed up. We i talked about this to the manager - she reacted in a way that made her inconvenienced. We were given instead - an upstairs King room that was dusty, musty, and the electrical outlet by the minifridge is overused and an electrical Hazzard. The AC was not able to cool the room efficiently. Items were missing from the room. Missing light bulbs from night light and lamp. One of the night stand lamps electrical plug does not reach an outlet , so it does not work. The arm chair is falling apart and should be thrown away. My wife was going to take a shower but she didn't because there is a 4in x 4in hole in the shower/tub wall. Now we are talking about mold and other risks when water get stuck in there. We slept horribly and had a bad experience with the manager and the room was horrible We will NEVER go there again. I an actually quite disappointed and frankly pissed that this place is allowed to stay open.

The room was freezing. Took 2 hours for it to warm up plus the little heater they had in there blew the circuit breaker because it wasn't plugged in properly. Moved it to a different plug in and it wouldn't stay plugged in so gave up on it. Night shift girl gave me a little grief about my service dogs even though I had let them know before hand on booking that I had them and why.

Sorry to say but this place is so run down. Nothing close to how it is presented in the ad on Bookings. It is in need of repair, cleaning and updating. Over priced for what you get!!

The door did not want to close properly and I did report this to the staff the next morning. I did figure out how to make it work for then night and was safe. I reported a soft area I noticed when walking on the floor and reported it as well. As stated previously, it is an older building.

The bed I slept in was amazing! It was a king and the mattress was the best I have ever slept in. I wanted to take it home with me!. I loved that I had a comfy chair to sit in while watching tv and relaxing. It is an older building but it was well worth the price. I would stay here again.
