Building 3 has no lift and we were on level 3, so difficult to access our room. Building is quite shabby. Air con so noisy we could not use it. Building 3 is across the road from the main complex with the pool, so it is misleading to put up photos of the pool when it is not easy to access. It is on the opposite side to the sea. Cleaning fee at $145 very high and it was not clear when initially booking what the breakdow n of costs was. Vacasa also a booking agent as well as booking.com so confusing ad to who was managing the booking.

Convenient location room clean and comfortable, everything there to use in the kitchen

The Kitchen was old but good size with good refrigerator, but the utensils were very limited and old. There was no dishwasher so you had to wash your own dishes which made me wonder how well the previous visitors cleaned up. One dining chair had a nail sticking out at the bottom which would tear the carpet if you tried to move it. Climbing 4 flights of stairs was good exercise for this old guy but be aware of that if you rent this place. No elevator.

I liked the location overall as the ocean was just across the street and the town was nice. The bed was comfortable and the balcony ok.

I didn't like that the pull-out couch did not have a blanket and I did not like The Neighbor Next Door to us yelling at us not to touch the cats scared my autistic son and I did not like the fact that the role screen on the deck was falling off every time we touched it and there were dirty pillow cases on the pillows for the extra bed

I like that it had air conditioning and the room was clean

What I didn’t like was the registration procession under Vacasa management. We booked the room a year in advance and received confirmations until the day before arrival. Trying to check in we were told our room was „unfortunately” sold already and we could split our stay between two different properties. I was reluctant because that meant moving two days before the Ironman competition, but was told I could either accept or cancel altogether (not really an option as there wax literally nothing available at that time). Upon checking in we were also given the wrong code and had to wait till we were given a valid entry code. The Vacasa staff was extremely good at not finding a solution to the check out ~ check in time gap of a few hours on moving day. Despite their reassurances they’d get in contact it was in the end the Kona Bali Kai ground crew who simply solved the problem by ordering the cleaners to clean our room last, to give us more time till the second property was ready. So kudos to the property team.

The room #234 that we got (not booked originally) was small but nicely furnished and decorated and exceptionally well equipped and clean. Facing the hill it was also quiet enough albeit being right on Allii Drive. I‘d book it again in a heartbeat.

All furniture should be updated but especially the bed and pullout. The existing carpet is old and worn. My wife says it's stinky. The sliding door in the washroom is very noisy and difficult to move. It's sliders are worn out. One of the plugins by the old recliner is not working. There is a water leak in the toilet. Couldn't get a key to work in the upper lock. Nearby roosters wok us up as early as 4 AM each and every morning. Shoot the roosters (haha). We didn't mind the geckos but not the cockroaches. Not a "big issue" but the inside door panel on the fridge sticks to the body when opened. The nearby food store was handy.

Would rent in Kona if returning. Kona Bali is not so convenient to town and a long walk if not taking the bus which is hardly ever on schedule.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable. There was no bedding for the couch bed except a quilt. We didn’t know where the main office was to drop our parking information. Turns out it was across the street and weird to get to - you have to go in the building. Not well labeled.

It was an enclosed space to sleep. Kitchen usable.

I am sorry to say this, but the guy at the reception was lazy and unwelcoming. Check in was at 4pm and we arrived at 2pm, asking if by any chance we could check in earlier if the apartment was ready. He said "no, we do no do that, you have to come back at 4pm". Instead we went to the apartment, and found that the keys were there and everything was ready for us to get in... so why not checking that for us? He made us miss one precious afternoon at the beach.

Really nice apartment, well equipped, lanai and good location with (small) ocean view, however it is not right in front of the beach, it is on the other side of the road (still pretty good!).

The bathroom is pretty bad. The showerhead is terrible, provides a very poor stream of water for showering. It’s very old. The toilet is also very old, and I had to have it fixed by maintenance during my stay. The sliding door to the balcony did not work, I could not get out on the balcony. I called for maintenance to fix it but he was unable to fix it. There was no way to get fresh air into the unit because none of the windows opened or I couldn’t figure out how to open them if in fact they do open. Worrisome for fire safety.

It was very clean. The bed was very comfortable and had good linens and quilt. The kitchen had a full-size refrigerator and stove/oven so I could easily cook meals. Parking worked out well, I could always get a parking space right out front. It’s on the top floor of the complex and you can see the water and a beautiful big tree from the sliding door/window. The grounds are nicely maintained.

I loved everything about the property there were a few issues with betting hadn’t been changed there had to been an animal in the house all the dishes were still dirty up in the cupboards that was for room 151 we also had 331 which was so much cleaner Are however could’ve been much cleaner

First off when we arrived you were supposed to have one queen size bed and a twin bed based on booking.com is advertisement which is incorrect I tried to reach them for four days straight for assistance they put it back on the facility itself it wasn’t a facility that made the mistake it was booking.com in additionbooking.com blamed it on the facility that when you read all of the reviews for booking.com can see that they never fulfill their commitments for a room that cost $1500 I got a refund from the facility for 114 but booking.com doesn’t fill their commitments and would not give a refund if any I will be bringing this up to my friends family coworkers etc. never to usebooking.com because they lie about the facilities that they are advertising I will change this is in fact they give me a call and apologize and I feel I still should be compensation for a portion.

Excellent Alii Drive location, very comfy and well-equipped unit, and great value for money.
    • Leisure trip
    • Solo traveller
    • Queen Studio
    • Stayed 6 nights

Nothing that I didn't like, but a couple of things for guests to consider: (1) Some guests might not like the Alii Drive location because it's a very busy thoroughfare in Kona, and traffic can be heavy; traffic noise was a minor factor for me, as the unit was actually pretty quiet; (2) This property is a little older and, in some ways, shows its age; still, the unit is well-maintained, super-clean, and surprisingly quiet.

Location on Alii Drive is very desirable because of the convenience and because the beach is mere footsteps away. My third-floor unit at Kona Bali Kai was quite cozy and comfy; though it only had a view of the road, the lanai was nice. The efficiency apartment was über-clean, with a kitchen so well equipped that it even had small appliances like a mixer and rice cooker (REALLY nice for guests who like to self-cater). The main property on the ocean side has beach access (though no swimming, snorkeling, or surfing) and a nice grassy area for picnicking and grilling. There is also a small but very pleasant swimming pool and jacuzzi at the main property on the beach side of Alii Drive, where parking is easy and convenient. Considering the excellent location, as well as the size, and comfort of the unit, I found the room rate to be an excellent value. I would certainly book another stay at this location, especially if the cost were comparable.

Older stove and fridge but everything worked.

Nice comfortable 1 bedroom unit with excellent cross breeze. Entire unit adorned with pineapple furniture and beautiful wood tables. The small beach across the street was nice to visit with the beach chairs provided (nice touch) No view of ocean and a bit of a walk to the unit on the 3rd floor. Amazing pool area with huge hot tub and tiki torches at night.

The location was good, not great, the condo was ok not even good and the advertising was misleading

First and foremost the website advertisement was completely misleading showing that there was a pool, jacuzzi, barbeques, and laundry facilities. The property was across the street from these. The pool, jacuzzi and barbeques were locked and we had no key. Moreover, we never found the laundry facilities and we packed light expecting to be able to wash clothes when required. Secondly, the condo was on the 3rd floor meaning about 40 steps to walk up and down, there was no elevator to assist which was a big problem for my wife. The bed was not great, in fact, it was old, with a bad frame and cheap mattresses. The layout of the condo was simply stupid. To go out to the balcony one had to maneuver around the dining table and TV stand and the curtains did not open. We had to rig up a solution to open them to go out and after a couple of days we just gave up. The internet was also an issue as it would intermittently go out and I had to reset it quite a few times.

The room had all of the basic utensils, cooking equipment, and cleaning materials needed to use the condominium. There sufficient towels, shampoo, soap and other amenities that were provided. The room in itself was comfortable but not ideal from the perspective of layout.
