Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaThe room smelled a bit stale but we opened the window so that improved it somewhat. Breakfast is only served to 9 am so we had to set an alarm to ensure we got there on time. Not an exactly relaxing start to the day!

United StatesI had booked two originally. Then, separately I booked an additional room. The second booking was supposed to have been canceled. I canceled it from the VA Hospital in Minneapolis because I knew at that point the third room would not be used due to an unexpected family death. Because I was on my mobile phone, I did everything from the hospital. When we checked in Saturday, April 13, shortly after 3:00pm, we were told by the LaQuinta staff that they had not received a cancellation notice from Booking.com. I was very respectful & asked them to please release the room, which they immediately did. They thanked me, but told me, they could not reimburse me for the room that should have been canceled. They said that can only be done by you. I sent multiple emails immediately, replying from emails I received from Booking.com seeking help. Two emails stated I had timed out after explaining in detail what had happened. I sent another email, & never heard back from anyone. I did ask a staff person Saturday (yesterday) if the cancelled room had been booked, she told me LaQuinta was completed 100% booked. In fact, they turned people away. This morning before we checked out, I spoke with the front desk person & asked her what I should do. She told me this was not the first time they had had this happen & Booking.com, she thought, will reimburse us. I do not know what happened with you canceling the third room, but I am seeking reimbursement for the third room that has already been charged to our VISA card. Our brother died at the VA Hospital, yet, I was responsible enough to cancel the room during a devastating time. It leaves me questioning where the disconnect happened? I made several attempts to contact someone for your assistance, to no avail. We have booked several times through you, & have also had excellent experiences. Please help me resolve this problem. United StatesBreakfast was great. A good assortment of cereals, fruit, juices,milk, bread, muffins and hot breakfast items included sausages, hashbrowns and eggs. The apartment suites are great spaces for family with a kitchen, a living area with food-out bed and separate bedroom. Overall we had a very good experience on our short stay and will return.

I like that there was a lot of parking available, and that it was in a good location. Close to everything that we wanted to do!
