Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe staff was not friendly at all at the reception desk. The halls smell marijuana as the other room I had. When I arrived to my room and I opened the fridge there was a drink from the previous guest so they didn't clean it. I had to call so they can come and clean it. They were nice. The room was for 4 people and there were enough towels as toilet paper, but they brought them as I called. Absurd that I had to pay for the breakfast because the POS wasn't connected to my room.

United StatesI can hear the arrival and departure of elevator in my room at night. Two small coffee at the restaurant coffee counter was way too pricey. Parking was $30 per day.
Rooms are spacious and beds comfortable. Great location and the building is sound proof to airport traffic.

United StatesOn check in, I was issued keys to a room. I went up, opened the door and was shocked to see that the room was already occupied by an man. I went back to the front desk and explained what had happened. The young woman at the front desk was apologetic and I didn’t make a big deal about it at that time. Later, when I had time to sit and think, I breathed a sigh of relief that nothing happened. This mistake could have easily put me in danger. My advice, especially if you’re a woman traveling alone, is to double check that your room is empty. Aside from this, the bathtub was dirty and there clear signs in the room that an upgrade is needed - torn bedskirt, stains on wallpaper, hair in my shower etc.
Property is conveniently close to La Guardia, so an option for people who would like to be close to airport. Exterior is nice, as is lobby. There is a bar in the lobby where you can get drinks and sandwiches. Staff was very professional.

United Stateshearing the airplanes taking off from LaGuardia airport, if I had known that, I would have stayed at a hotel a little farther from the airport.
They had just be bought by a major chain hotel so checking in was a hassle, they were experiencing electronic issues so you have to pay cash for items or a credit card, no charges to the room, and breakfast was excellent.

SloveniaStaff at the reception was not very attending. There was a lot of confusion (they moved us to another room during our stay, they gave us the breakfast coupons for 2 instead of 3 person and they almost charged us the wrong amount at check out).
Free shuttle to the subway, free water refill station, snack store in the lobby, daily housekeeping. The ladies who served at breakfast ( especially Mrs Cindy) were very kind.

United StatesAll the yogurt choices at breakfast were presweetened with either sugar or substitute. What happened to plain unsweetened yogurt. I asked and was told that wasn't available.
The fresh fruit options at breakfast were great. The oatmeal was surprisingly good. Those huge vats never look appealing but this one tasted good. The restaurant was open late for a meal after a long flight. The pizza was decent.
