Only good because of location - close to Olympic NP, other than that - I don’t recommend this place.

The slow Internet connection was provided for half an hour per device per day, after watching some advertisements… it was dusty, the room was cramped, the handle to bathroom door was not in a good shape.

The lodge has already seen its best days. It could need some renovations here and there. For a one night however it was totally fine.

After checking in I was requested to provide a payment mean for a deposit that would be returned fully to me after checkout. I was charged $13 from the deposit they kept without no explanation. Had to call the facility to explain that this is some tax they could not charge me with in any other way. Very nontransparent.

The fire burning in the lodge's main hall, the lake, and the surrounding trails--always rejuvenating

I was disappointed that the sauna in the women's area was not working. I was disappointed that the women's changing room at the swimming pool was out of order. Also, there were no towels to use at the swimming pool and I was told by the front desk to just use one from my room--not as much cache as I'm accustomed to at the lodge.

The food in the restaurant was wonderful. I enjoyed salmon at dinner one night--moist and delicious! I loved the Logger's breakfast--tasty, flakey biscuits. And, great coffee! The staff is always pleasant, and just sitting in the lodge lobby is wonderfully relaxing.

The water temperature took a very long time to warm up and it wasn't a "hot shower." The front desk check-in staff was overwhelmed also and didn't hide that as a line of people checked in.

Classic historic PNW lodging experience. We stayed in a dreamy lakeside room with a balcony.

The walls are quite thin in the rooms so we could hear a lot of people talking! Would’ve loved to have breakfast included since it’s so far from everything. Only 30 mins of Wi-Fi a day - but also nice to disconnect!

The beds were terrible. We were on the second floor above the common areas and it was very loud all night! There were large bumps and creaking like someone was moving furniture below us. The food at the restaurant wasn’t worth the price but it was edible in a pinch considering there isn’t many options in the area. I wouldn’t spend nearly $400 per night ever again though. We came during off season and you can tell there was minimal effort.

The lodge was neat, the common areas were very cozy and inviting. The view from the back was amazing! The beach and lake were gorgeous.

Alexis and Isabel at the front desk was amazing. Our first room we were booked into wasn't exactly what we expected. They were able to move us into the lake front rooms. These rooms were more to our expectations. But Alexis and Isabel handled everything professionally and politely. I can not say enough about these two. Above and beyond!

The folks checking us into the hotel were nothing short of rude. Juanita & all the folks in the restaurant & housekeeping were just delightful, more than making up for it.

Location is spectacular. Gentle hiking trails start right outside. DO NOT miss Roosevelt Restaurant. Dinner & breakfast were an absolute highlight! (My husband rated breakfast a Best of Washington. Trust me, that’s saying something!)

The service mind is weak here. When we arrived hotel in 2:30pm after long time driving, we were asked to wait till 3:30 for checking in. The speed of Wi-Fi is terrible even when we purchased for a high speed with 16 dollars. While it should allow 3 devices to access Wi-Fi, when we got 2nd device connected, the 3rd one was rejected, thus I had to go back to front desk for help, since I had important business email to respond. What is more that, the bed sheet was very dirty when we got into the room. Even after it was changed to another one, it was still not that clean. As contrast to the beautiful hotel itself, we wish the service could be improved significantly.

This is a place with hundred years of history and stunning views.

Gorgeous historic lodge looking out at the lake. Room modest in size but comfortable. Bed very comfortable. Dining room attractive, service good, presentation outstanding. Pot roast average but salmon outstanding, perfectly cooked. Great hiking trails right from the hotel, both along the lake or uphill into the rainforest, which is stunning. You can even link the two for a loop walk.

Spectacular vintage charm in a breathtaking setting

There is no mini fridge in the Lodge room we stayed in (unclear if any rooms offer mini fridges) so be sure to mind that if it's a concern. We were in room 220, which overlooks the AC exhaust area, and there was a low hu from the equipment - more like white noise than anything disruptive.

We arrived in the early evening, the golden sun streaming across the green lawn, folks playing yard games, a few boats out on the water. The setting was spectacular - and the vintage lodge matched the setting. We were delighted with the roaring fireplace in the Great Room - necessary even on a sunny June day, definitely a bonus during the certain rainy season! Dinner on the terrace was fantastic - the menu was creative and extremely satisfying. A lakefront walking trail leads to the Rainforest Trail, and an early morning run was easy to enjoy, as was the indoor swimming pool and game room. My only complaint is that we didn't have time for more than one night. This lodge deserves a few nights at the very least.
