How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Check in clerk talked so fast couldn't understand what she was saying. Said she had to talk fast to get the information out. 😩 Did not like having to use key card to use elevator Could not navigate the shower head and water spilled over and under shower door Cleaning person left fresh towels on kitchen table and kitchen wastebasket in the middle of the floor and next day in the bathroom. Did not like walking from the pool through restaurant with bathing suits on when people were dining Fortunately we were lakeside but couldn't enjoy the balcony much because of traffic and train noise

my husband is a smoker (and does not smoke in our home) so he is used to smoking outside. however Lakeside Lodge didn’t even allow it outside even if he was far away from others. they said it had to be off the property and at least 50 yards away as in the parking lot. A bit much…

The location to the highway with the vehicle noise. It wasn’t a complete failure but it detracted from the whole experience.
I liked the convenience to our Clemson College Tour. I loved the property and its surroundings, especially the water. It was beautiful to sit on the balcony and watch the sun coming up.

The staff who made me 2 hours late for my reservation.
I enjoyed everything about my stay, except for the lady that checked us in. She was horrible and almost ruined my Mother’s Day.

The train goes by this property frequently - late at night and early in the morning. It woke us up!
Room was modern and very clean. We loved the huge windows. Walls between rooms were thick so you could not hear your neighbors.

The bathroom door wouldn’t stay shut or lock, pet fee was extremely high for one night.

The tv stations went out a lot and they don’t have smart tv’s. Can’t watch Netflix or Amazon. Not a deal breaker. Would still definitely stay again.

Biggest issue with this place is my room was a double room that shared a door with some loud folks. Things finally calmed down about midnight, but the walls are incredibly thin, or it could have just been the fact we shared an adjoining room with strangers.
Love the convenience to everything that is Clemson. Facilities are incredibly clean. Enjoy the outdoor areas both pool and open grass area where my daughter and I enjoyed throwing some softball.

You can hear the trains going by all through the night but not really a big deal.
Beautiful property with beautiful views of the lake. Very clean room. Love having a restaurant & bar on site.

My daughter and I traveled to Clemson for a college tour. Every single employee, person that stayed at the lodge was so friendly and provided us with recommendations for the college. Carrie was especially professional who was our bartender. We can NOT wait to stay here again. Unfortunately, our stay was very brief with one night so we didn't get to use the pool or hot tub but my daughter and I said it was by far one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. We didn't see this as staying in a hotel, but truly a lodge with an amazing view and staff. Nicely done:)

We never received maid service -- they would come and remove our towels but did nothing else.

I honestly can not think of any complaints.
The downstairs restaurant is nice and with plenty of TV's to view sports. Enjoyed some appetizers while watching Clemson play basketball. Hotel room was very clean and comfortable. Felt very safe.
