You just need to be aware, that you have to commute to New York city. Trip is not via the Subway system, but via New Jersey transit. Otherwise nothing to complain.

Really nice house and Douglas is very friendly! Kitchen is well equipped. Really nice neighborhood! Can go to New York City via the New Jersey Transit trains. 7.25 $ single fare. 15 min walk to Elizabeth station and then 33 min train ride to New York Penn station. Would stay here again!

The water dispenser was empty, the heating does not work with the same efficiency in all rooms.

Safe neighborhood. Option to park car behind. Ease of entry and exit whenever required. Very quiet place but close to commerce and Kean University.

Very easy to find and close to Newark-Liberty International Airport. The house is spacious and clean, although the floorboards on the stairs are pretty sensitive and makes lots of noises so I had to watch my steps while walking up and down but that didn't really bother me too much because this IS a house, not a hotel and might be built way back then. My flight landed 5 hours before check in time (2pm) and I asked if it was possible to check in early to which they let me and had my room ready on arrival which I'm very grateful for! They also give you instructions for check in which was super helpful and easy to follow. The neighborhood is very chill and gives you a feel of an all American neighborhood in the east coast.

The bed was way too soft with the extra padding added on what seemed to be an already cushion top mattress, very uncomfortable for my taste.

I booked this place last minute after some panic flight changes due to poor weather in Iceland, so was a bit nervous about the whole thing, not knowing the area or anything. I needn’t have worried! This lovely suburban home is easy to reach from Newark by taxi (expensive at $40) or by bus (#62 for about $2 which you take to its end stop at E Jersey and Madison. Then it’s a 10-15min walk) I took the bus! The host at the property sent me a key code for the front door and the number of my room, and when I let myself in I found the room key in the bedroom door. The room was really clean, comfortable, and quiet. Like staying at a friend’s house. I loved it! The next day I took another bus in to New York City Port Authority bus station. That was easy too, but the buses aren’t frequent. Anyway all in all a fun adventure, and I can’t recommend the accommodation enough. Bargain of the year!

This property has a high score for a reason. I will only share things that I really liked: 1) Ample amenities. Coffee (Keurig), tea, shower products. I realized how much I appreciate these: you can easily brew a coffee or tea at any time without guilt. This is a really nice touch. Along with bathing products. You tired? No brainer amenities available. 2) The host is gregarious and easy to get a hold of. When I contacted him for issues, he responds very quickly. Always personable but professional. You feel at home (really) and taken care of. 3) Very relaxing environment. Hard to work here, but you can if needed and there’s plenty of space. Great for a getaway or group, you can enjoy what the home offers. plus easily accessed from Newark Airport and NYC. If you don’t have a car, you can walk 15min to trains connecting to EWR and NYC.
