The stay was fine, and suited our needs for this trip.

The shower was a little tight. Plenty of towels were available, but it was unclear what to do with the used ones. Perhaps some definition for parking could be made. It seems like there is plenty of room, but we had to park on the street one night due to how cars were parked.

It was charming and rustic. Supplies were readily available. The room we had was a good size. There are obviously still some things that need work, but the Inn is off to a good start. The staff I dealt with on the phone and in person were very helpful.

Common areas need to be dusted. Plants inside need to be watered. Information/food guide in the room could easily be updated to look more slick or fancy. Mini fridge in the rooms would be cool too.

Room was clean, bedding comfy. Garden was nice

Poor quality property. Landscaping mostly dead or none at all. Paint peeling, carpets stained, musty smell, lacked amenities. No clocks in room. No counter space in bathroom. Used cheapest bathroom fixtures available. Shower in one room was so small a full size person had to squeeze in. Dirt parking lot. No ac and no heat except for one small electric space heater. No light in closet, etc. Not the property advertised to be sure.

Rooms were good size and beds were good. TV had steaming capabilities.

No official payment or receipt, no housekeeping. Disappointed there was no breakfast. The first floor gets a bit noisy as the ceilings and floors are all wood, but things quieted down by 11pm or so.

A beautiful old home. Their sign had blown down, it was hard to determine we had the right place! Very comfy bed and nice bathroom. Nice to be able to park off the street, beautiful deck, yard and garden. Wasn't given one of the rooms pictured on the website - but ours was large, with a fireplace and connected bathroom.

The furnishings are quite worn. The bedding could be replaced as mine were stained. The carpet also needs to be updated as there were several stains. The walls are so thin that we could hear people in the other rooms taking and using the bathroom.

First, I have to say that the beds were very comfortable. I’ve been on a west coast tour and the beds here were the most comfortable across 3 and 4 star properties.

    Quaint craftsman home turned inn
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children

Because this is an older inn, the walls are pretty thin, so we could hear our neighbors' comings and goings. Also, when we arrived, we weren't sure if we were in the right place because there was no sign outside identifying it. That would have been helpful.

The Colonial Inn is a quaint craftsman style home built in 1912 and converted to an Inn in the 1940s. Our room had a queen bed and a twin day bed which worked well for my husband, daughter, and me. The hosts were very welcoming! The attached bathroom was large and well supplied.

I had thought my entire family was all on second floor & didn’t realize daughter was on first floor. Also didn’t realize there were rooms on third floor so had to listen to guests up there walking on our ceilings. I’m 70 yrs old so it was my confusion & was not misled by owners.

Due to COVID they said free breakfast was not available. However guests were using kitchen together & not wearing masks or social distancing as COVID has improved & guests were vaccinated so free breakfast would have been nice.

Check-in was very interesting. You had to stand outside call the number and then wait for them to come and open the door. You couldn't just walk in and check in. You can hear the neighbors in the house going up and down the stairs all night. There's no sign out front, it looks like it's missing, so we drove past it a couple times.

It was very clean. It's a cool old house. The room we were in was large.

We were at the top floor, so carrying bags up (no elevator) was a bit of a work out. It should be indicated in the booking especially for older folk. My sister and I are 71 and 72 but in good shape. Otherwise the room was lovely. Another suggestion , there was no signage on the inn indicating it was the Colonial. That threw me off.

The room we stayed is not meant for 6 people. It advertised that there was a queen size futon- this was more like a twin size bed and will not fit two adults.

It’s close to Downtown, it’s quiet and really close to glass beach

Apparently it changed hands in March 2021. The new management is still working out the kinks. There was no one around to check us out the next morning or answer the phone. TV was unplugged and we had to move the bed to get to the outlet (the outlet socket was old and didn't hold the plug in). Notes - at least two of the rooms are up two flights of stairs - no elevator. It was OK for us, but not obvious on the site and a surprise. Also, as of May 2021, the website phone # was still going to the old owners' other business, so the only way to communicate was through the booking.com tool.

The location is great - downtown is within walking distance if you're up to it. It's a nice old converted house with all the character you'd expect, including walls lined with redwood paneling. There is a shared kitchen for guest use with a pod coffee station. Linens, bathroom and in general - all very clean and comfortable. We were two friends traveling and were able to get a room with two queen beds in a place that wasn't a motel :)
