How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

1. Had to ask for towels 2. Wall thermostat didn’t work 3. A/C unit was very loud 4. Poor breakfast selection (coffee, tea, bagels, and a few refrigerated fruits..no water, juice, cereal, etc)

No breakfast and no sign that breakfast wasn't included, BUT it looked like there was breakfast when we checked in. Only in the AM were we told no breakfast. If they had said only coffee when we checked in, that would have been better
Clean and comfortable. Fairly quiet. Good wifi. Met our needs for a short stay.

Furniture was tired and worn. Sink was dirty or damaged. No towel replacement during my whole stay or any other housekeeping upkeep.
Convenient location. Comfortable bed. Towels were good.

In the past they served breakfast, but that was discontinued. However, this may have been stopped due to Covid, but I'm not sure. Also, they collected a $50 deposit that took about 5 days to remove from my credit card account. Most hotels do this the day of checkout or within 24 hours.
Clean, updated rooms, quiet place, nice staff, good location and about one mile to downtown Mountain View.

Facilities shabby.
The facilities are old and tired. However, staff often make or break a place and this hotel is very thoughtfully run. The manager is excellent and the staff were responsive overall. Housekeeping is friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent for commuting to shopping, dining, and receiving food deliveries (so many close restos, little wait). The TV is a smaller flat-screen w/ no casting or streaming and the internet is not the fastest, but it's included and overall this is a good value and comfortable. If the staff were not as good I would say to skip this hotel. However, there's a lot of effort every day to run the hotel comfortably and they will listen to your complaints and feedback. So I'd recommend for a basic stay or if you're getting work done at your own house etc.

The Wi-Fi did not work, the TV was not available and did not work during my stay, the bathroom facet broke and was not able to be used- also the elevator broke and was not of use.

The room was very poorly lit, and there was no refrigerator. There were also no extra blankets or towels in the room itself.
Appreciated the laundry on site and a convenient location to hwy and Google.

I asked when I booked the room for a refrigerator. The person on the phone said it would be in the room when I got there. I went early to check in o the arrival date and asked about my request for the fridge and she said it would be in there when I arrived. I arrived at about 8 PM - no refrige. I asked at the counter for the request to be filled and he said they would put it in the next day. Still no fridge when I came back at 7 PM. This is why I did not leave a tip. We had food and all we could do is throw it away. Should have given it to a homeless person. Other than that.... Denise Shannon
