Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe were a little disappointed we had paid for a historic room with balcony, thinking we’d get one of the rooms at the front with a fireplace and cast iron balcony. Unfortunately, all those rooms were in use, and one was out due to maintenance issues. The room we stayed in was outside the reach of the property’s WiFi, which was a little annoying. The shower curtain needed to be washed, as did the anti slip mat. The room had broken, missing or mismatched fixtures and fittings which detracted a little from the overall boutique feel of this place, purely cosmetic, rather than an actual annoyance. Our beds base sheet was lightly stained.
This is a nice historic property, and I feel a unique experience to stay in an inn this old. The accommodation is comfortable, and had everything we needed. Charlotte at the front desk is incredibly welcoming, friendly and accommodating. This place has old world charm and I would stay again if passing through Mobile. The location is great, a short walk into the main area of town, and close to many historic attractions. It’s also set in a nice, quiet & clean area of town.

United StatesThe inn shows some wear and tear. The plumbing is suspect, though the hot water supply was good.
Wonderful location and charming old motel built around a courtyard in the historic part of Mobile. Our room was comfortable as were the beds. Dauphin Street is just two blocks away which reminded us a little of (the good and seedy) parts of Bourbon Street.

United StatesThe only problem I had was a vent in the room came loose but I told the staff and she moved us to a better room. So no problems and everything was fine after that.
I loved the garden and historic feel and the location too. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay again in the future. 😄

United StatesBeautiful grounds, perfect walkable location, and excellent staff! The only things that were not perfect were the WiFi and the bed. For the bed, it was just far too soft for me but by no means a deal breaker and does not change how much I love the place! The WiFi either-I just jumped on my hotspot (cell service was strong) Besides, the charm of the building and the beautiful courtyard made me want to just relax and read not watch Netflix haha-Highly recommend this hotel!

Costa RicaInternet only works in the lobby; that is a big problem. There should be a small refrigerator in the room. A safebox would be convenient.
The location is perfect; a most beautiful neighborhood and near the main atractions. The trees and gardens are magnificent. A true paradise. The old historic house is beautiful, most interesting; amazing. The room and furniture is very nice and confortable; you do not feel in a hotel, but in a clasical home. The inner patio is fantastic.

United StatesNot every room has that old time antique charm feeling I thought they would have from the pictures. Also, the bed we had was much too soft, meaning we sunk. Also, the chair with ottoman in our room was awfully stained with fluids of some sort which had us questioning everything.
The courtyard is beautiful! The staff is excellent, very friendly and helpful. They made us feel at home. It appeared to be clean. I love it was located within walking distance to local restaurants and shopping.

United StatesMattress wasn't that comfy, and bed was a little nousy due to being antique. Older home with wood stairs inside and in hall on otherside of our room with other occupants getting up at 6am and walking up and down the stairs was VERY loud.
The beautiful old home, beautiful furninshings, the grounds were very pretty. Close to downtown restaurants and bars.

United StatesThere was an air handler in the bathroom ceiling that ran and ran and ran. Thank God for ear plugs. The shower was slow to drain. Not a huge issue, but one of my very few pet peeves. The old gal is showing some age, but you can tell she is well loved and we have an appreciation for that kind of "patina."
An older hotel w/ a good Vibe. It's a little quirky, but as close to downtown as you need to be. Lots and lots of restaurants and such is well within walking distance. Our room, 207 was of a decent size with two very comfortable beds. The staff is just great. Very easy going and eager to please!

United StatesLack of simple amenities such as coffee.
The property is not for everyone. It is furnished with older (antique) pieces and it's motif is old fashion for certain. Ideal location to restaurants and shopping. It is a shame that the ownership is not taking the necessary steps to utilize the property to the potential that it exhibits. The employees that I that I dealt with were very professional and helpful.

NetherlandsThis wonderful old building has an interesting layout - so the elevator (which already is great it’s there seeing the age of the building) does not go all the way to the top floor. You’ll have to take a flight of stairs to reach top floor - this does not impact 1 and 2nd floors. Kind receptionist explained directions clearly. Not a problem for us at all, but something to keep in mind when booking, if you have heavy luggage just let them know.
Beautifully preserved old inn with tangible historic value. Lovely patio, beautiful authentic yet comfortable rooms and very close to city centre. Lovely ladies at reception - very welcoming.
