Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesI marked that we wanted a king bed when given the option of a king or two queens. We were also assured an early kickin of 12 was fine. We arrived at 12:30, The room was not ready. We waited until 1:45 in the lobby. We were told our room was ready. I had a 2:00 spa appointment. I arrived at the spa only to be told that my appointment for was Monday, the 22nd. When I told the receptionist that I would have never made an appointment for Monday as we were only staying overnight, she told me that they were having issues with the computer messing up appointments, I call my husband to find out what room we were assigned. He told me that it was 1222, which was a double queen room. I go to the front desk and speak to the attendant. He acknowledges his mistake and says that he can get it fixed but we will have to come back to the lobby to wait until a king room can be cleaned. As we have plans shortly and need to get ready, I tell him we are not in a position to wait further. He offers no apology, just says ok. I go up to our room. I see a blue suitcase which it not ours sitting in the room. I ask my husband where it came from and he says he has no idea. I call the front desk and tell them that the concierge has given us someone else's bag. I am told they will send someone up for it. I sit it outside the door. About an hour later, the front desk calls and tells me that someone is missing a blue bag and can I check to see if it was mistakenly added to our bags, I state that yes it was and inform the person that I had called an hour earlier to notify them of this. I take a shower and begin to get ready for our dinner reservations. I realize that my makeup bag is not in the room. I call the front desk and am told, yes it was turned into lost and found. Mind you, it was left with the concierge with our other luggage to be brought to the room. I am told that it will be brought up immediately, It was not.
The couple checking in in front of us where offered breakfast vouchers; we were not.

My stay at The Marriott Shoals was okay- Staff very helpful and friendly Room was smallish- amenities were bars of tiny soap and mix matched shampoo and conditioner My bed was lumpy and saggy on my side- the other side of bed was more comfortable There were three roaches in our room - one in the bathroom dead and two on the outside patio alive - The food was tasty at 360 Grille - views very nice The spa was fabulous!!!! I enjoyed my express massage and amenities at the spa The gym was perfect - cardio with weight equipment - it was all the hotel needed- rarely anyone used it Sauna was not working at all - it never got hot enough for a sauna Bellman were efficient and friendly Housekeeping was on call basis - provided decent service - we ran out toilet paper - no extra roll to be found Pool was big and and had plenty of chairs- I would recommend to my friends but I would give it 2 1/2 stars because the hotel was a little run down - nice but not luxurious at all

United StatesI picked a room with a queen bed and a queen sofa bed in it specifically because I have arthritis in my back and have to sleep in a recliner at home. I have more luck in hotels with a sofa bed because I can usually prop pillows the right way to sleep on them. I was told they did not have couches there when I arrived at the desk; was not told I could cancel my reservation without having to pay. So to be honest, I was surprised at the lack of response from the desk clerk. I was pretty upset about it. I went to sleep on the chair with the desk chair as my leg prop. Into the night, I woke up hurting so I laid down on the bed and propped up on two firm pillows and was able to go to sleep. First time in 5 years! So that pleased me very much.
I loved their hot tub and the ambiance outside in the pool area. I loved having breakfast in Swampers. I loved that my daughter and grandchildren got to spend 5 hours with me in the indoor pool and loved wading in the outside pool. I loved that my 18 mo. old and 4 year old great-grands were thrilled with watching 'snow' fall on the Christmas tree from the 5th floor.

United StatesThe rooms were dirty. The bathroom floor was dirty needed to be moped. The dust ruffle on the king bed had dark stains on it. The mattress popped every time you moved on the bed. I have back issues so I move a lot. The room needed to be cleaned.

United StatesThe hallways smelled horrible the odor wasn't in our room just hallway but our room was alittle warm and the mattress and pillows were uncomfortable. and .the bed was worn no room service we had to call to front to get what we needed if they cleaned rooms we wouldn't have to call everyday
We ate 2 days in the restaurant in the lobby It was great alittle costly but great. The last day the staff acted confused about what they were suppose to do My husband didn't get a refill on his drink after we asked twice. It costed the waiter his tip The staff at hotel was friendly and helpful. The specialty coffee lady was greats. she could make whatever I wanted.

United StatesThe beds could be softer!! And the refrigerator could have worked!! This is twice I have stayed and the refrigerator has not worked in our room. Also they don’t tell you about having to pay an extra $50 dollars when you book with them on the site or and agency site you use, you find out after you get there to check in. That is if you pay cash!! If you pay with a card you have to pay the extra $50 dollars every night you stay!! But the only good thing is you get that back after you check out if your room is ok. Which if your not expecting that extra adding on to your bill it could be a problem for some people, it would be really nice to let people be aware of it before they get there to check in!

United StatesMy first room wasn't clean so they moved me to a upgraded room but it was dirty as well. They had to clean to bathroom before I could stay in that room. Hair was in the shower, on the bathroom floor and toilet was nasty as well. Dirt and dust was on the bed and behind the bed. The next day, I asked could they vacuum and they did. The place needs an upgrade , period, it is very outdated. It was so dusty in my room and the furniture was very worn and dated. The draperies was covered in thick dust. We had our honeymoon there 15yrs ago and the same décor is there now. They need a new cleaning crew because the ones now do not clean and if they do, it is half done. I probably won't go back and also, one of the management team members thought that she should remind me that I was in an upgraded when I asked to substitute the complimentary breakfast. I was thankful for the breakfast but I did not ask for it nor did I ask for the upgraded room , I just asked for a clean room especially for the price.

United StatesThe room was nice but for the cost , it should’ve been a lot cleaner and the staff wasn’t very informative in reference to how to get room serviced by housekeeping. We stayed three nights and no one offered to remove garbage from room. We were informed at checkout that a microwave would be provided only if we requested it, not informed at time of arrival. No information was given in reference to use of room card needed for elevator use. Several of the other guests also had issues with use of elevators. Overall, staff needs to be more informative at time of checking in to facility.
The view from our room was great and atmosphere was pleasant. Swamper’s and 360 Grill was very good with friendly staff.

United StatesI didn't like that I found dog food in my room on the floor, the sheets on my bed, when I gt ready to sleep had CRUMS, AFTER TELLING STAFF THEY OFFERED TO CHANGE ROOMS, BUT After that experience I was UPSET!!! I wasn't Accomidated to my Taste, Then they had dogs all in the building!!!! WANT BE BACK!!!!!!
