There was nothing to not like about it.!

It was comfortable, well appointed and great out door space on the back patio/deck and a nice porch swing on the front porch. Plenty of parking on the property. Located in a beautiful neighborhood.

The hosts Dana and Mark were very gracious. The B&B is very historical and quaint. Everything was spotless and furnishings were true to historical times. Coffee and pastries were lovely. Oh and the candy bar was a special little touch. We loved it and would definitely stay here again!

It will be great if the bathroom door can be properly locked and the lock to the other side of the house is fixed (no real issue but it will feel different)

Quiet, comfortable, unique and good value. Charming house with ample space for parking. Super warm and helpful staff and comfortable walking distance and enjoyable walking routes around! Huge space in our room and the picture is my favorite window side bed. Enjoyed the morning snacks and casual chat with the staff. Will definitely choose Marshall Slocum again.

The stairs going up into the apartment. Steep. But for a younger and agile couple it would probably be acceptable.

Heat worked well. Refrigerator worked great. Ned was very comfy Ample room to move around.

Breakfast was a little skimpy. At 7:30 am breakfast and coffee weren't ready so we went out. We would consider "breakfast" was not available. Listed as continental but no juice, just hand fruit, small pastries. They tasted good!

Breakfast was a very light interpretation of continental with small pastries and fruit, but it’s free and there is a wide variety of options nearby if you’re looking for something more robust.

We had a lovely stay at Marshall Slocum. It was convenient to everything which made it the perfect “home base” for all our little adventures this weekend. We were able to walk nearly everywhere. The room was lovely and quiet, as was the house. We really only heard other guests in the morning as they left their rooms. Everything was very clean and all of the basics were covered. It’s a small thing, but the coffee brewing at 6:30 was lovely. We could smell it in our room, even on the third floor, which was a lovely way to wake up. Jackson and Dana were both so helpful and accommodating with both our late arrival and early departure.

Beautiful place, so cozy! We were greeted by a nice woman who gave us useful information about the sights and restaurants. The room was exactly as in the pictures, really beautiful with a comfortable bed.

Everything was great. Just might not be good for people with lots of luggage since the place had narrow staircases. Wasn’t a problem for us though.

We feit very much at home in the beautiful house ran by lovely people. Location is excellent, good quality rooms, tea and coffee. In the morning some pasteries and fruit are being served.. Newport is a cool & beautiful cifu

Clean, comfortable, well-appointed place to stay. Great location within a walking distance of the Historic District. The light and fresh self-service breakfast. Environmentally conscientious efforts (less plastic, paper, etc.).

I think my husband would have liked to watch the news on a TV at night. He also did not enjoy climbing up two flights of stairs to reach our room on the top floor.

Location was excellent, parking was easy, in the back of the inn. I wish the room had a little refrigerator. Breakfast was OK, just continental, as advertised.Coffee was available all day which was nice.

it was odd but good not to have a big TV but they automatically provided a tablet that had streaming services on it so I was still able to watch a movie.

We had the room with the spiral staircase to the upstairs bathroom. It was quirky and interesting but the downstairs bedroom area was a little on the small side. Our glimpses into some of the other rooms on the property revealed that they were really quite spacious, so it might be worthwhile checking before booking

The Hotel is lovely with lots of period furnishings. It is clean and, bright and airy, particularly the breakfast and lounge areas. Staff are friendly and helpful, but also not intrusive. The property has a very homely feel

We stayed in the apartment which was quite large and comfortable. Good location and easy to walk to many restaurants and the wharf area (10 minutes at the most) and easy to walk to The Elms. Quiet as well.
