Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe only drawback was the size of our bathroom. My husband is over 6 feet and it was not as spacious as he would have liked.
Location was perfect and we were able to walk to all of our destinations. The only tour not in walking distance was Ft. Sumter. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were especially please with the young men helping with valet and holding our luggage. Steven and Will were so helpful.

United StatesParking behind the building at an extra cost was a bit of a hike but understandable at that city location. The bed was not as comfortable as I would have expected.
It was a nice hotel in a great location, very accessible to the points of interest. It was clean and the staff was great. Welcome drink each day at 3:30 was a nice touch along with a $10 daily hotel credit.

Stayed all over the historic district. Our last stay was at Harbourview and really wasn’t impressed. Last time we stayed at the Mills was prior to a lot of the renovations. We were pleased with the updates to the bar\restaurant, check in area. There was a classy feel to the hotel before the renovation and even more so afterwards.

United StatesA $200 flat rate for dogs seems a little expensive when your dog is very small and remains crated when left alone. Since we were staying 3 days the pet fee was okay, but it means I wouldn’t stay at Mills House with a pet for only one night.
