Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United StatesBeing renovated so no flat path from street parking to front door so luggage must be carried over dirt yard. Kitchen was dirty upon arrival. Room was small and bunk bed near ceiling was hot and no outlet to plug usb or phone in. Confusing whose bath items and food was who's as three people lived there and no differentiation for guests. On a busy road so can hear road noise plus neighbors.
Near the Dunes. Cheaper than hotel near Yellowstone. Host friendly. Whole house available. Laundry.

The breakfast was milk, juice, or one pod of coffee, peanut butter or oatmeal that the guest had to prepare for themselves and then clean up any dishes they used. We passed on all of it. But the main thing was there was a cat that had the run of the house, and the cat odor was throughout the house. My wife has allergies, and this was horrible for her. None of this was mentioned in the ad for this place. We got there late and left early and never even saw the owner/host.

United StatesVery comfortable stay, host was friendly and respectful. Quiet area in a small town. Don't judge based on the low price; this was as comfortable as and quieter than our hotel stays. Two shared bathrooms and shared kitchen and living area with entertainment center and video games for the kids. Host was very accommodating to our large family.
