Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesRoom smelled very musty. Bed was very comfortable. Pillows very small. Breakfast was a joke (white bread for toast-the cheapest you can buy, 4 types of cereal, coffee, and either apple or orange juice). The utensils were so cheap that when you tried to spread butter the plastic knife would bend. Fresh fruit and yogurt would have been a nice add. But I suppose for the price you get what you pay for.
Room was clean. Fairly close to wharf area. Good value for the area. Pictures are accurate. On-site parking is a huge plus.

AustraliaElevator out of service still. Had seen reviews that it was out of service in Jan 2024, still not fixed and given story that techs were coming in next few days. My 76 year old father had to climb 2 flights of stairs every time we went out, and we had booked for 3nights. Staff only come into reception once you are at the main desk. Breakfast was very very basic. Towels not in room on check in and not replaced when housekeeping done. Blown light bulb in bathroom for duration of stay.

United KingdomThe room walls were quite thin, though nothing worse than you would usually find at a motel of this kind. No working elevator, though I had picked this up from other reviews and it didn’t bother me.
Good location that felt safe and quiet. Well kept rooms with free, convenient parking. Ice machine and soda vending. Helpful staff. Basic breakfast included, however I didn’t avail myself of it. Had a really nice retro feel but without feeling old or tatty. Would happily stay again.

FranceA refurbishment is needed and the lift is not working. The breakfast room is just a “kitchen” therefore you need to pick up your things and have the breakfast into your room.
This hotel offers a room with a minimum of comfort, a free parking place and a basic breakfast included into the price of the room. The staff is available to help you.
