Room was nice, clean, spacious. 3rd bed was really nice to have. Kids didn't have to share a bed. Grill and pizza oven to use was a nice surprise. Staff super friendly and helpful.

Friendly owners, wonderful amenities. Lovely porch to sit on to view the mountains. Fire pit, gas grills, pizza oven and outdoor gas fire table were a wonderful find. Stayed 3 nights, wish we had planned more. Stay here you won't regret it.

Love, love, love! This is the best place for the best price with the perfect location for us! Cannot be beat and we have stayed in MANY locations around the hills. New owners were super nice! We plan our trips on a budget and Mountain View lodge allows us to make trips out to the hills on our limited budget which does make me nervous about giving a glowing review for fear that we are giving away our little secret to make our trips to the hills financially feasible for us, buuuut this place and the owners deserve a glowing review because it’s just perfect for us! Beds are soo comfortable after a long day of hiking trails and enjoying the beauty of the hills! Always clean rooms with plenty of hot water for a relaxing shower after a long day. Nice, quick, little grab and go breakfast to start the morning of exploring. Perfect location with easy access to Hill City just minutes away, and on the main intersection to head on up to Spearfish, Deadwood or back into Rapid City. There is a new 5g tower going up close to the lodge so cell strength will be better, but for anyone complaining about cell service or wifi just be aware there are MANY places in the Black Hills where it will be spotty and even non existent service..this is the point of nature and exploring! We have never had an issue with wifi and consider it just a little added bonus whenever we get it but NEVER expect it! We have always had decent wifi at the lodge for what we needed. We usually stay off peak season so haven’t had a chance to try out the pool yet but it was filled and the area looked clean and inviting😀

Nothing - it it rustic and that is what made it comfortable.

Welcoming, homey, central to all activities! We stayed in a cabin, there’s a small kitchen stocked with a few cooking items - every cabin has a grill. We had a few dinner’s at ‘home’. Love the location-made this lodge our home base, planned our activities and came back in the evening!

personal touches , beautiful room , gorgeous sheets that you melt into , 24 hour coffee and breakfast that’s perfect , this will be my same time next year place for a long time , the caretakers were amazing and the owner is real sweet heart , they went above and beyond all my expectations if you don’t stay here you’ll be sorry

WiFi was almost non existent but the problems was the theirs. The Black Hills had spotty WiFi throughout. Actually it was kind of nice to disconnect for most of a few days.

The breakfast and coffee was not too good but their space did not allow for a breakfast area with more options.
