How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Staff was great, the rooms were clean, the sheets were clean, there were many towels, easy to get to, easy to get to other things, there was a pool and good water pressure.

Bathroom fan was exceptionally noisy, both in my room and my neighbours! Minor problem though. Location is convenient for the freeway and arrival (and surrounded by other hotels and motels), but nowhere near the heart of the city. Some of the locals might make you ervous but the area is well patrolled by security and police - welcome to 2022!
The room was a nice size and away from the main block, so quiet. Check in was quick and easy, even if the system was very remote behind glass. The shower was good, the bed very comfortable and the A?C effective if a bit noisy. The car park is tight and if you were in a bigger vehicle you might struggle, I parked my motorcycle in a 'compact space' - sometimes code for 'likely to get knocked but it was fine!

Everything was great. Sometimes parking gets taken up quickly because people have more than one vehicle but otherwise very great and convenient. Very safe for vehicles to park overnight.
The property was not too far from the Santa Cruz boardwalk. Very clean and the staff were very patient and observant about cleanliness.

The television was off to an angle, so watching from bed was less comfortable, and the desk chair wasn't a good option. The local homeless population makes walking around the neighborhood unpleasant, though this is beyond the hotel's control, guests should be aware of this concern.
The room was very clean and the price was good considering.

The tv reception was poor in our room and a little dated
It was clean and close to the main areas of Santa Cruz. Overall it's reasonably priced.

Room was clean and well organized. Location is walking distance to numerous resturants and approx. a 15 min walk to town center. Parking was not a problem. Immediate entrance to all main hwys. Price was quit reasonable for all of the above mentioned reasons. Great stay.

Just a little traffic coming in and out..
Very clean rooms. All clean linens. I requested a shower chair it was placed in the shower when I arrived very good bathrooms for the seniors and disabled people every thing parking pool office very close to each other. Staff is excellent!

They are nice rooms toilet had a problem was fixed immediately. The attendants were very friendly comfortable to be around. This is a big deal. Thank you it fit our needs perfectly

The office was locked. business conducted through the night window. Proprietor and staff all wearing masks (Yuck!) This is fear mongering and certainly does not display hospitality in a hospitality industry. FYI - if you (owner or guests) are so afraid of the COVID then just stay home and/or close your business. ITS OVER! COVID is over. Get back to normal.

i never saw staff except when I checked in and out.
I got a room in the back building with only one adjacent room so it was quiet and didn’t have to deal with people coming and going.

A little expensive for the distance from the city center
Nice place to stay in Santa Cruz, even better than expected. Beds were comfortable and the room was large enough for us. Free parking inside is a good plus.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. The day before my scheduled stay, my daughter and granddaughter decided to join me in my room. I asked the hostess/reservation clerk if that could be arranged and she told me there would be an extra $10 charged. I told her that was fine and we had a very pleasant stay.

National 9 was right off the freeway at Ocean Ave. Very convenient. Small property. Well kept up. Room was spacious and simply appointed.
