How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The Wi-Fi did not work well because of an intense rainstorm that came through.
Book this stay for my parents who were traveling through. They said it was perfect for them and their visit to Nauvoo! The room they booked did not have warm water in the shower. However, once they notified staff, they were quickly moved to a much larger room complimentary and they were very happy with those accommodations.

We arrived very late but we would have never made it in time before the office closed, which was early to me—at 5:00, I believe. Check in went well, just as it had been explained to us. Since we arrived late and left early, we never had any contact with a live person. Just odd for us.

The manager gave us a free upgrade. We had booked a one bed room and they upgraded us to a three bed, with a full kitchen. It was amazing!

It was a great space…large and well appointed. Bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable beds. Kitchen space was wonderful. We had fantastic interaction with the staff. It was a wonderful experience and exceeded our expectations.

Note that the upper level rooms (even numbered) have a window view from the bedroom and enter from the parking lot level. The lower enter from the picnic/recreation level.
Nauvoo Vacation Condos and Villas was a very neat, clean and comfortable suite. Very convenient, yet quiet location about a mile from the historic Nauvoo center. During the fall, Nauvoo is not very busy--mostly tour bus groups--but on holidays, and summer vacation weekends, it could be a very welcome retreat. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay.

Nothing absolutely everything was wonderful
The Villa was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed our stay very much it was very quiet and peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great. It was nice to have a refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker in the room. And all the utensils were included in the room that we would need. I highly recommend Nauvoo Vacation Villas and condos

When I arrived, the office was closed. There were instructions on how to get my room keys, but I had trouble accessing the key box. Fortunately, a staff member showed up while I was trying and was able to get me keys that would work.
The location is quite convenient for travelers wanting to visit historic Nauvoo. The kitchen and cookware provided make it nice to have the option to prepare meals in the unit. This is especially valuable given the limited dining options in Nauvoo!

There were issues with the tub that we were too busy to bother with during our stay. It leaked and had a constant drip and the mechanism to switch to shower was problematic.
Quaint little set of villas on the outset of town. Very comfortable, many amenities, cozy little "apartment" with kitchenette area, living room, and bedroom. After-hours check'in process was different and unique, but it works.

The Nauvoo Vacation Condos and Villas exceeded our expectations. Very clean and as quiet as a church. Being a couple of miles outside of town and slightly off the road made things extra quiet.

Due to our late arrival and Sunday departure, I was sad we didn't get to meet the office staff, but very glad that they had a seamless check-in and checkout procedure.
