The towels from the prior visitors had not been removed, and the pillow sham covers seemed a bit used.

The location was great - very conveniently located in Hudson, New York. The room was rather roomy, and the bathroom was very roomy.

The room was very clean. White sheets and towels, cared for and kept. The bed was very comfortable. The design was minimalist , and cozy at the same time. We enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch on a rainy day. And everything is close by. Loved it!

The room we booked was on the top floor. And we were carrying 2 suitcases. So if you plan to stay here just pack light unless you book for the room on the ground floor.

The room was so clean and pleasant. I really liked the interior of the room. It was very comfy. Michael the owner gave the instructions clearly since it was a self check-in. We didn’t have hard time checking in. The location is near the train station. 10 minutes by walk. Its easier if you dont have heavy luggage. We had a really good time.

Cleaning service started by 8:30am in the hallways and common areas. We were on the first floor so they were also literally outside our windows. Vacuuming and some sort of other loud noise, and the staff speaking loudly, were unpleasant.

Entry to the hotel was somewhat tricky. There were no staff on site and so communication was remote. We were not provided with a code to enter the hotel and we were given a key code for only one of the two rooms. We had to phone the owner before we could access the building at all. The hotel was rather noisy. It is a relatively small building with perhaps thinner walls than might effectively limit sounds and so the voices of other guests and their movement around the hotel could be heard quite loudly.

The rooms were beautifully appointed with great care and attention given to comfort, style and efficiency. The decor and colour schemes were attractive and the linen was of a high standard. The hotel was also centrally located and local attractions were easy to reach on foot.

Very expensive for what it is. Not as clean as it should be, especially the bathroom. Room was quite small. Very thin walls and single pane windows mean it's very easy to hear other guests, outside traffic, etc.

    terrible management and no assistance

Since there’s no on-site staff, you won’t get instant response and assistance. After I book the trip, I sent 3 emails to request check-in details as they asked, and also messaged through booking system but I never got any reply. Until check-in day morning I had to call myself to get the code information. I checked in in the afternoon around 3:30, the first thing I saw in the room was an opened/ unfinished water bottle on the drawer. I messaged through booking immediately, of course NO response. Then I called, one female staff told me the manager will call me back to deal with it, but of course NO ONE called me or showed up to check the situation. Until next morning when I was about the check out, finally they messaged me through booking, after 18 hours, told me that the dirty water bottle was left there by accident. And that’s it. How can I know if you didn’t clean other things “BY ACCIDENT” either??? The management and the attitude was terrible, I’m not being picky to complain about the dust on the window, but a dirty trash bottle which was the first thing you can see when you enter. How was that an accident???? Plus the hand soup bottle was empty, ants under the blanket in bed, and dead bug on the sink… I’ll never recommend this place and wish I didn’t book here for my trip.

    location.

    READ ABOVE

Here's the thing. There are limited options and the ease of being in town is important. BUT it is not the first time I stayed there and this time the cleanliness was not like it was the first time. ALSO they now have really thin cheesy towels. I think I would have noticed that before. I was not too keen on the "febreeze" type smell in the towels either, such a gross smell to me. I found so many hairs on my sheets it was kinda gross and the carpet did not feel vacuumed. The other thing was there were two light bulbs out in the room and there are only three. SO, the nightstand where I would think many would sleep (nearer to the door)was blown out. Maybe the maid could have changed it out in the event they were out of those expensive bulbs? I don't know, it was just inconvenient and not as nice as the first time.

Our room did not have a separate bathroom, there was a toilet in the middle of a room with no door. Also, the location is incredibly loud! Snow removal woke us up at 3am and continued all night/morning.

    Same as above......

I could not rest/sleep comfortably. Guests above walking constantly draging luggage furniture im not sure. If construction allows that kind of noise to travel, a thick carpet would have helped unpleasantness.

Owners should stay one night with enough luggage for a multi-day of week trip - need a lot more places to hang, place things effectively. There is a policy of being quiet at night but there was a fairly large and loud group drinking in the courtyard outside our window around midnight or later. There is no person with authority on premises to monitor that. We don't feel it was a good value for the price unfortunately.

Unit was clean, shower very nice, got to try a Sleep Number bed. Location is not far from the center of town. Good security.

The Nest is an aging house. Very narrow hallways. The rooms are small There is no presence at reception. It works on codes: Street entry code, room entry. Code No kitchen but a small galley with nespresso ok machine. OK if you know how to work it. We did not bother. No sound proofing ! The 6:00am and the 6:30am were my wake up call by banging the entry /exit door on the other side of our bed-room door. .Be aware this is a non-refundable. Indefinitely would not classify this property as a “boutique nor hotel”

Our room was superbly clean. Decor very pleasant . A/C worked well Very nice bathroom - nice shower. Great hot water.
