Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI’m a simple dude. I don’t expect much other than cleanliness and professional staff which this space has. So I have no complaints about the property itself.
Honestly the only downside was the huge construction site in the middle of the street. Everything about the property itself was great. Super friendly and patient staff, good and convenient food location around. Overall the space was clean, elevators were clean and fast, staircases were easy to access, shopping was easy to get to nearby.

United StatesOn the 3rd visit, the room was noisy, both inside and outside, starting at 4:00 am and every hour, as the toilet was making noise and at 5 am, noise was outside, people coming in and out. Hence, I did not get a good night's rest as I had hoped.
The location was great. That's why I chose it. The 1st and 2nd visit was good.

ChinaWe reserved a Queen Room but when we arrived we were surprised to find that the room did not match with the pictures in Booking.com. There is no sofa in the room, and since it is facing the street the room is a bit noisy. I asked the front desk to change a room but was refused. The staff said that this was exactly what I have reserved.
The staff is friendly. The room is clean. Parking is convenient and free.

FranceStaff are very professional and friendly but just something perhaps minor to note: not all of them speak the best English - this was probably our fault for not having done enough research prior to arriving, as most of their interactions with other guests seemed to almost exclusively be in Korean. This is also true of the room itself - the telephone's instructions are all in Korean, and there were labels on the toilet in Korean. This wasn't really an issue during our stay, as it went smoothly enough, but we did wonder how an unusual request/complaint might have been dealt with. We were given a room on the third floor facing onto a very noisy Los Angeles street. When we phoned down to request whether we could change to a different room, our request was declined despite the fact that we noticed other rooms available that were facing into the quieter parking lot. I think other reviewers have mentioned this, but the hotel's location, however central and convenient it may be, is not surrounded by the safest of streets; there is a slight air of danger in the surrounding streets, and although parking was included, it was in an outdoor parking lot staffed 24/7 by at least one security guard. During our trip we stayed in another hotel in the Koreatown neighbourhood of LA but did not at all feel anything remotely close to the sense of insecurity we felt around the New Seoul Hotel (probably because it is located much closer to Downtown LA, which is apparently known for this atmosphere).
Centrally located hotel in Los Angeles, near the Downtown area. Faster Wifi than most similarly-equipped hotels we stayed in on our trip, and very clean rooms which a great bathroom, television and very comfortable bed.

United StatesSingle pane window and we had a room facing the street. The courtyard or parking lot rooms are probably much more quiet. Carpet was old and lots of stains.
It felt safe and offered free parking. Decent location and walking distance to many restaurants and shopping.

United StatesThe noise from the room facing Olympic Blvd. can get loud because the windows are not double-pane. It’s best to book a room with a window facing south over the parking lot or the interior patio. The shopping center in the hotel doesn’t have much. No cable TV channels.
The room was cozy, parking was free and plentiful, and coffee was provided in the morning. The on-site restaurant was very good. Vermont Blvd. is just a block away, and there are lots of eateries within walking distance.
