How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Parking was not ideal. It was a block away in a dingy garage where a man was bathing in a garden hose. There was no hot water in our hotel room.
Great location and the beds were comfortable. It was moderately clean.

The location was perfect for getting to the boardwalk & the beach, outdoor showers with privacy doors for sand removal. A window A/C unit was available for climate control. I had a small fridge with a freezer compartment-was all I needed. There is also a coffee maker & microwave. I had a private bathroom, a bed, a couch, night stand, a dresser & a few shelves with an area to hang clothes. Perfect for me. It was right next to Atlantic Ave., easy walking access to ATM's, restaurants, bars, liquor store and over Labor Day week-end Thursday-Tuesday every year is a Shidoobee with Stones Doug event takes place in the Beach Terrace Hotel just a quick 1 minute walk. Karaoke Thurs, Stones tribute bands Fri & Sat nights, Sunday sing-a-long by the pool (3rd fl). Very quiet and a parking pass for parking in a garage nearby.

Myra is such a sweetheart and was very accommodating! You cannot beat the location, especially if you have children with you… The room was a little small but perfect for what we needed!

Didn't like a lot of the rules: 1) Turn off the t/v at midnight, bathrooms were really small, no bed service had to asked for clean towels everyday.
The location was great, parking was great, the beds were GREAT. I would tell my friends. the porch looking at the boardwalk was also wonderful.

It was slightly outdated in the room, the water took forever to get hot and we were charged $4 for showers, the bathroom was tiny in general. It didn’t feel like a real hotel, more like we were staying a family’s house or an Airbnb/hostel type but like our own room.
The location is perfect! It’s down the street from the boardwalk and the price includes parking in the garage down the street which saved the trouble of having to pay for parking or worrying about where to get a spot! The front porches was a nice touch and good meeting point since our family was staying in multiple rooms.

We had four people/3 nights and not enough hot water for really one to shower. We used the outdoor showers which had plenty of hot water, just not always convenient when on 2nd floor. Do not complain, it seems to be impossible for this to happen… you will be wrong and they don’t take kindly to it.
Extremely close to the boardwalk and the beach, didn’t move my car once! Outdoor showers were a big plus for us. Balconies on each floor were nice as well.

Not a fan of charging for the shower. Also had issues with the WiFi connection.
The bed was very nice, and I loved how close to the boardwalk the place was. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

The manager really gave me a hard time about who was in and out the room when it was the same people I previously talked to her about. She asked me what was going in the room that I paid for... SMH. I had to go to the front desk to show her pictures that the people she saw was us ... we was just dressed up. Lol guessed we catfishing! After the conversation things was okay however it was kinda like my moves being watched when I go in and out . However I would probably definitely stay again
