How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I know it may be difficult to have a completely sound proof room, but you could basically hear what's happening in the neighboring room.

Noise from the street.
The location was great and close to everything, however the noise from the street was very loud. The accommodations were very nice and would stay there again but would request a room not closed to the main street.

Bedroom noisy from street noise but is right in Waikiki so understandable.Carparking a bit expensive at $35 a day but the going rate in Waikiki.Swimming pool very small, no area to sit by pool at all.
Great location, nice big room. Friendly staff. Free amenity bag.Can refill water bottles anytime at water station which is great😄 Overall a great place.

Our view was the best and patio was super small.
The beds were super comfortable. This hotel was a perfect location for nearby food and bars. The staff was super friendly and quick to help with our needs.

They are currently refurbishing this hotel, but the room we stayed in had not been refurbished. It was clean and comfortable, but very noisy.
Well located. Easy access to buses. Large room in older tower.

Wished there was an outdoor pool for lounging.
Great central location. I booked a room that was dated. Richard was able to help us find a newer room in the tower during check-in. He was very helpful.

The room we had originally got the day we arrived was dirty and dusty and smelled like mold. However, staff quickly moved us to another room which was very clean!
Hospitality by front desk was great!

Bathroom really small and dated, so for multiple people in a room was tight

It was an ok hotel with some noise issues. It is very close to the street that has a lot of traffic, so at time there is a little of noice. Nothing major. The staff was very nice and the location is pretty good.

Bathrooms and Balconies are super small. Difficult for 2 adults to get ready. Pool was extremely small and fitness center was pretty bad.
Location is great. General room was good size and bed was firm but comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful and lots of elevators really helped move people quickly.

I didn't realize the housekeeping suites had not been renovated like the rest of the hotel. My room was comfortable but quite dated. The carpeting was clean though but the bathrooms tiles and flooring need to be renovated which they will be next year. Hope they keep the kitchenettes after they do.
The service and staff were exceptional. The renovated Malia Tower as well as reception and the pool area are very lovely. The hotel staff makes you feel very welcome. I liked the filtered water machine in the lobby as well as the free coffee in the mornings. There were also free valentines day cookies as well as other special treats on certain days. When we had maintenance issues, they were attended to immediately. The location could not have been better.. So close to everything on Kuhio including reasonably priced restaurants and bars, Public busses and trolleys. I would definitely stay there again once the Tower with the larger, housekeeping suites is renovated next year!

Asked for joined rooms. I got there and was told that only 1 was ready but to go back at 3 and request for the second one. Once I got back a diff. Rep was there, and i was told that the one next to us had been booked. The manager was very helpful and got us a diff. room. Had another incident, and the staff was so rude. We just went by and did not ask for anything else for the rest of our stay.
The location was 10/10. Beautiful rooms and very close to the beach.
