Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkVery much humidity, and no way to remove it in the rooms. Everything was damp No lock on toilet doors always deducts a little.

IsraelThere was no television, but we didn't miss it.
Spacious, quiet, and well-appointed room in back of large house. Beautiful huge backyard with jackfruit tree and the Wailuku River about 100 m at the end of the lot. Parking on the premises. Breakfast on the lanai (porch) with other guests was excellent: fresh fruit, homemade pastries, yoghurt, and coffee served by gracious hosts (not the owners). The "Boiling Pots" are about a 10 min walk from the B&B and the Rainbow Falls a short drive away. (We walked, but it was dangerous because of lack of sidewalks part of the way.)

United StatesWould appreciate coffee maker in the room. Staff were accommodating to make breakfast earlier than 8 am, and allow us to use the communal refrigerator, but having the amenities in the room is a plus.
Beautiful quiet bed and breakfast with lovely grounds,. Large vintage room with tub. We enjoyed a lavish breakfast and friendly welcoming staff. It was nice the hosts allowed us to drop off our bags early.

United StatesNot really a "didn't like." I had the room just off the breakfast and gathering place porch. My bathroom was just a couple of feet from the door and it was awkward to use when I knew folks were on the porch a few feet away. I'm sure the other two rooms offered more privacy. But, this is a little thing compared to all the overwhelming positives and you just have to roll with older properties.
It was a treat to wake up to a delicious breakfast, served artfully. The daily homemade breads/scones/muffins were to die for. The hosts were friendly and responsive without being intrusive. The fellow guests were lovely people to chat and be with. The setting was amazing and peaceful. The location was central while still feeling "off the beaten path."

United StatesThe room was pretty humid and moist, but I’m not sure if that’s avoidable. The restroom was not sealed from the bedroom so you get the humidity from the shower and can smell some business….
Breakfast was a nice touch. We really appreciated that our house prepared breakfast for us when we had to leave at 6am for a tour. Everything was well organized. A binder was available and had all info about the lodging, sites and local restaurants. The room was very clean.

The bathroom was immaculate and had plenty of extra towels. The shared space was lovely and very comfortable to relax on. I really enjoyed the fruit provided every morning for breakfast, and Lori was very accommodating with our early start the morning we left.

HungaryStaying at the Old Hawaiian B&B was definitely the highlight of our Hawaii stay. The place is beautiful, authentic, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, equipped with everything you might need during your stay. We have stayed in great hotels all over the world, but the cleanliness of this place is outstanding, everything is absolutely spotless. The garden with the river and waterfall at the back with the wildlife is heaven on earth helping you to disconnect and recharge. Oh, and let’s not forget about how wonderful, diverse and delicious the breakfast was, freshly prepared every morning, including fruit bowls from fruits from the garden, muffins and banana bread also baked in the morning for the guests exclusively. The owners Lory and Stuart, and the lovely Kalā took great care of us. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience in Hawaii, make sure to book this place asap! We will definitely return!
