Just to be clear, the area that the hotel is in is a distressed urban neighborhood. Inside of the hotel is an oasis but folks expecting pristine surroundings may be surprised. Also, the weekend we were there, the closest subway was closed so getting around took longer than expected.

The room was huge - like the size of a one bedroom apartment. It was clean and breakfast was charming and well stocked. Staff was very kind, like they took a personal stake in making the hotel feel comfortable. As an aside, my birthday was the day I arrived to the hotel and my family had a surprise gift waiting for me in the room - and they recounted how helpful the hotel staff were to make the gift and surprise happen.

Neighborhood less than ideal, but transportation to Manhattan is very convenient with 2 lines of MTA to both sides of Central Park.

The neighbourhood is vibrant and very well connected via several subway express train lines close by. The area around the hotel is not the safest and not particularly clean. It can feel somewhat intimidating for a solo female traveller.

The hotel provides good value for money, staff are very nice and forthcoming. There is coffee and tea 24/7 and the rooms are clean and spacious.

*Breakfast area can feel a bit stuffy. The low ceiling and few windows and when some days air-conditioning was turned off it felt a bit tight. *Breakfast itself ... although there was enough to choose from , apart from boiled eggs choices were mainly sweet.No cheese or cold cuts. But it must be said that breakfast is not a complementary item. It's allways included and maybe therefore a bit on a budget. We brought our own cheese and salami 😉 *The hotel area can be a shock to some people as its not the most fancy. Streets are littered (although cleaned regularly) , and many homeless people. But we never felt unsafe and it's just a part of where real people live and has been no issue for us.

*Very helpful and friendly staff. At the front desk and during breakfast any issue or questions was dealt with immediately. Great staff makes this place standout !! *Spacious room , and great bed. *Very clean and well maintained hotel. *Location very close to subway station. *Great convenience store across the street.

We were satisfied. The place around the hotel wasn't so nice and clean. But...they can't help it. We saw a lot of poor people,but there were never troubles.

This is a perfect hotel. We liked the breakfast. During the days the coffee was free. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It was a quiet room. Well cleaned every day. This was a good vacation for us.

The location is not really next to the most important things to see. But the subway is really comfortable. The area is not so good per sé. But nothing bad happened.

The hotel is really amazing. The staff kind and liable. There is free wifi, coffee and hot choccolate free from the machine. The room was big. Really amazing. The girl at the reception was really kind. I stayed 6 nights and 7 days. It was a great choice.

I feel that for the location of this gorgeous hotel, that the price was a bit on the hefty side. As I walked by, unfortunately, there were addicts using out in the open, and there was litter all over the streets. I understand that this is NYC, so I am not judging too harshly. I just wish the price was at least $50-75 cheaper only due to location, honestly.

The hotel is beautiful. The staff is very nice and helpful. The lady who checked me in was beyond helpful and kind, as it was an unexpected visit and expense as well. On their mezzanine level, they have unlimited teas and different coffees including Lattes, french vanilla and mochas, and even espresso shots. They have vending machine and ice all day, as well as the coffee and teas. I really enjoyed that coffee, haha. Also, from 7am until 10am they have a really nice breakfast. It was an emergency, spur of the moment stay, but I enjoyed it very much so.

Neighbourhood is South Bronx. Trash on streets and general lack of public order on streets. But it felt safe.

Great end helpful staff. Clean room. Everyday housekeeping. Close to subway station (lines 2 and 5). Real Gem in the neighbourhood. Breakfast regular continental 7am to 10am.
