The room where the breakfast was located was too small to accommodate everyone and it felt very crowded. It was understandable because no one needed to leave the hotel to eat breakfast but there were too many tables and chairs for the limited space.

We were very impressed with the hotel from the staff checking us in to the quick service when requesting extra towels. The facility was very clean and well maintained. The continental breakfast was much more than just pastries and coffee. They had all types of pastries, bagels, muffins, bread to toast, a juice machine with a variety of juices, a coffee machine also with a variety of choices, fresh fruit, and yogurt.

The hotel was a wonderful oasis in a slightly frayed round the edges area but was less than 200m from the subway station. The rooms were cleaned when we wanted them; staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a filling continental buffet. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate was on tap. The water was hot. Heating worked well. The room was quiet. The building was once a theatre where Houdini and the Marx Brothers performed. Commuting was not too long - 30 minutes to Manhattan.

Just to be clear, the area that the hotel is in is a distressed urban neighborhood. Inside of the hotel is an oasis but folks expecting pristine surroundings may be surprised. Also, the weekend we were there, the closest subway was closed so getting around took longer than expected.

The room was huge - like the size of a one bedroom apartment. It was clean and breakfast was charming and well stocked. Staff was very kind, like they took a personal stake in making the hotel feel comfortable. As an aside, my birthday was the day I arrived to the hotel and my family had a surprise gift waiting for me in the room - and they recounted how helpful the hotel staff were to make the gift and surprise happen.

Neighborhood less than ideal, but transportation to Manhattan is very convenient with 2 lines of MTA to both sides of Central Park.

The neighbourhood is vibrant and very well connected via several subway express train lines close by. The area around the hotel is not the safest and not particularly clean. It can feel somewhat intimidating for a solo female traveller.

The hotel provides good value for money, staff are very nice and forthcoming. There is coffee and tea 24/7 and the rooms are clean and spacious.

*Breakfast area can feel a bit stuffy. The low ceiling and few windows and when some days air-conditioning was turned off it felt a bit tight. *Breakfast itself ... although there was enough to choose from , apart from boiled eggs choices were mainly sweet.No cheese or cold cuts. But it must be said that breakfast is not a complementary item. It's allways included and maybe therefore a bit on a budget. We brought our own cheese and salami 😉 *The hotel area can be a shock to some people as its not the most fancy. Streets are littered (although cleaned regularly) , and many homeless people. But we never felt unsafe and it's just a part of where real people live and has been no issue for us.

*Very helpful and friendly staff. At the front desk and during breakfast any issue or questions was dealt with immediately. Great staff makes this place standout !! *Spacious room , and great bed. *Very clean and well maintained hotel. *Location very close to subway station. *Great convenience store across the street.

We were satisfied. The place around the hotel wasn't so nice and clean. But...they can't help it. We saw a lot of poor people,but there were never troubles.

This is a perfect hotel. We liked the breakfast. During the days the coffee was free. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It was a quiet room. Well cleaned every day. This was a good vacation for us.

The location is not really next to the most important things to see. But the subway is really comfortable. The area is not so good per sé. But nothing bad happened.

The hotel is really amazing. The staff kind and liable. There is free wifi, coffee and hot choccolate free from the machine. The room was big. Really amazing. The girl at the reception was really kind. I stayed 6 nights and 7 days. It was a great choice.
