1. The area where the bus stop is for bus 20 (which takes you to the Airport) near the hostel can be a bit unsafe after 9pm. I was walking back one night and a street person waited till there were no cars and no one around to approach me for money. That wasn't the problem, he tried to follow me for about 20-30 yards after I turned him away. He only walked away when another passer-by appeared. This has never happened to me in other major cities I have lived in where street people are a common fabric of society there. Never been followed or harassed by a street person after turning them away. 2. Love the place, but it seems to be a bit lacking in adequate cookware, some frying pans have no handles. Only one frying pan and a saucepan is available. Also, the place could have more plates and bowls for pasta and salad dishes, etc. There were a few plates but no bowls for soup dishes and cereal, etc. Despite these transgressions, would still come back for the vibes and the crew who make this place so lovable. 😊

Everything in this place screams charm and bohemian vibes. The interior decor is like walking through a time machine or an antique museum. I love the recycling efforts, using a used sewing machine table for a sink in the bathroom! The location manager James is highly passionate and has an enthusiastic and affable personality. He has a can-do attitude and exudes good managerial skills. Great that he has also set aside a room for single female travellers as well. The room is small but adequate. Bed is comfortable and sheets are clean. A blanket is available if you ask for one. His crew, Rachel/Rochelle does a good job keeping the place clean and presentable. Everyone who works here is great. I like that they also have a first aid kit near the kitchen area, and they provide a bottle of mosquito spray in the outdoor area. Very thoughtful, it's the little things that count, so thank you.

There is a party almost inside the property so it can be impossible to sleep. The outdoor furniture was pretty dirty. One bathroom was closed and the hostel was full, so it was hard to use.

I was supposed to stay in the cottage (which is more expensive) and they moved me to the other hostel next door saying it was full booked. How could that be if I had made a reservation? Management felt pretty disorganized, volunteers had to take care of everything even when they weren’t on working hours. It is pretty noisy at night till 2:30 more or less but you should be fine with earplugs.

Location was great, you could take the trolley nearby and it felt safe. They cleaned the bathrooms every other day. The 6 beds room was never full so that was also great. You could cook anything you want and they had all kinds of appliances.

I can honestly say, I was pleasantly surprised by the way that the staff are always on call and easy to talk with. There are a multitude of languages spoken, so come enjoy the party

This hostel has so much potential, but it misses the mark a little bit -- no activities set up by the hostel, no recommendations offered on eats/drinks/activities in Miami, the back patio was often a little dirty, and there's only two private restrooms/showers. When I was there, one of the bedrooms wasn't in use so it wasn't so bad, but I can't imagine what it might be like with six other people staying there. That said, it's a great value and in a great location. I think they're still working out the kinks since they're under new management so I'm hoping they work out some things and make it a great place. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

The communication with host for the check in. If there wasn't because there was an open wifi I don't know how I was going to enter. Maybe they need clearer instructions. The beds are uncomfortable.

They were multiple TV remotes in my room and none of them seemed to easily work the TV. Maybe add instructions?

The room looked exactly as it did in the pictures, really interesting. Old house with lots of character. Great proximity to the art district, and very easy street parking. The staff was super friendly and made sure to put a dehumidifier in my room. I was in a room with a shared bathroom, but it was only shared with one other room, which was nice. The staff were very responsive with the number listed on Booking.

The property from outside did not look as expected. The cover sheet is too thin, and the top bunk bed almost reach the ceiling. I had to be careful not to hit my head or the light fixture.. The room I was in was not what I saw online .I paid for a 4 bed room was place in 6 bed room. The room I was in was way too small for 4 people, much less 6, and that was very uncomfortable.The bunk bed I was on made noise every time I or my bunk mate moved.

There is a restaurant club next door with an open rooftop that plays loud club music until 3am. It was right next to my window. I booked for 4 nights and left after 2 nights because I couldn't sleep. I had to book another stay and pay twice as much last minute. Also, the bathroom upstairs for my room was under construction and completely inoperable. I had booked a room with 4 beds and they put me in a tiny room with 6 beds, so I got overcharged since the room with 4 beds cost more. The room had an awful smell as well. I sent a message to the property regarding these issues and they never replied.

The hosts working there were friendly, but they are not management.

The gate to the hostel has a code and it isn't supplied until you arrive. As it is a house without full time reception staff, you need to be able to contact the reception person to let you in, so you end up waiting quite a while. The bedrooms were extremely cluttered with other people's stuff as they were small.

The outside common area was quite pleasant and had a TV available. There were a couple of bathrooms available, so for a house type hostel, there was more chance of having a free shower when needed.

The perfect location that you can imagine when you are in Miami! James was a super helpful and friendly guy. I really appreciate everything staying at this place. Do not mind reviews about the club next to this place. It's not loud at all, just use earplugs and you will sleep well. This place is amazing and you will not regret staying here. P.S. My internal advice for travelers who do not have much experience: take your towel or rent one in a hostel, get yourself a small lock, or buy one on the spot and it will make your stay even much better.

Iy wasn’t in the greatest location. Ive stayed in hostels before but this one was probably the worst. I was supposed to be in a 4 room dorm but there were 6 beds. It smelled although the staff was real nice couldn’t speak English.They directed me to the next building up the street which was just as bad so I left and booked a room at an extended stay.
