Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeUnfortunately, the place also has about 2-3 long-term guests who are placed in the same rooms with short-term visiting/travelling guests. One of the long-term guests who happened to be in the same room as me has a bad temper/verbally aggressive and abusive (and maybe has some mental health issues as well as he talks to himself, another guest in the room can verify this too) and have had verbal altercations with one other roommate in my room, and he (this long-term guest) has yelled at me twice for adjusting and/or switching off the air-conditioning. Apparently, he wants the air-con on full blast 24/7 even when he is not around and gets mad when he comes back and find the air-con on low cool and not high cool (full blast). But is there a need to yell and use expletives, the F-word? Mind you, all this time, I never raised my voice at him. He just found that he could verbally abuse a single female guest in the room. And one time, I didn't even touch the air-conditioning, I just checked that it was on full blast as it was hot during the afternoon and I just got back and wanted it full blast as well, but he also yelled at me and said not to switch off the air-con even though I didn't even touch the air-conditioning. This guest is definitely a RED FLAG and is verbally aggressive and abusive. More should be done to protect single female guests placed in the same room as this person. This guest acts like this is his room and we are his guests and have to walk on egg shells, we have to "obey"" his orders or else... He behaves like dictator of some kind. I raised this up with the staff on the night he used expletives the F-word at me, the staff didn't do much and didn't even reprimand this guest (which totally surprised me, that's why I feel more should be done to protect single female travellers placed with long-term guests with questionable behavior) so I raised it up with the management.
I have extended my stay here and stayed a total of about 10-12 days to be close to and explore Midtown Miami. Hence, my review here is pretty accurate and reflective of how the place is. Would likely return if I want to be close to Midtown Miami and the Miami Design District. Staff are generally very nice and accommodating. Staff Trudy, Jose, Belu and Daniel keep the place very clean and presentable. There has also been a change in staff recently so some days the place may be less attended to due to a shortage of staff in the morning shift, but things usually gets cleaned up by the afternoon shift. The place has a nice functional kitchen and an outdoor patio/garden area to chill. Location is also good, close to Midtown Miami and the Miami Design District. The management is attentive to feedback from guests, which is a plus. Hence, my 7 rating. I hope the management will visit this property more often and check that the long-term guests are properly audited and are "fit" to mix with visiting/travelling guests. Also, consider placing long-term guests in the same room, as their needs are different from visiting/travelling guests, and some long-term guests have anti-social behavior as well, as mentioned here, so it is better to have them in one room and not put other guests in vulnerable situations. Thank you.

SingaporeThe 3 issues I had that could have given this review a higher rating are 1. Mosquitoes in the patio area in front of the house, may I suggest that the property install mosquito repellents in the patio area for the comfort of the guests. I had to go to Walgreens to get a bottle of insect repellent spray. On the first day of checking in, I sat in the patio for like 10 mins and got quite badly bitten by the mosquitoes there. 2. The water pressure in the shower/toilet near the kitchen. The water pressure was very low, and as a result, I had to take a "longer" shower to rinse off the soap. 3. Provide more power extensions in the rooms or on the property for easy charging of devices. Other than these 3 issues, all seems fine.
Overall a pleasant experience. Check-in was easy. Staff Trudy and Daniel were helpful and kind around the premises. Guests on the property also seem polite, kind and respectful. The staff also keeps the place immaculately clean and tidy which is very reassuring. Would stay again. Hopefully, the water pressure improves, mosquito repellents are installed in the patio area, and more power extensions around the premises for ease of charging mobile devices. Thank you.

United StatesTowel rental was $3 and laundry was $10 The room I was in felt crammed and the beds were creaky
Cheap place that was close to Ultra Miami. It was a bus ($2.25) from the Metromover (free), but you could even walk from the Metromover it was 10 blocks. Facility was nice, it had 3 bathrooms 1 indoor and 2 outdoor all with showers. The place was clean. Free Wifi. Sheets and pillows are included. I would definitely stay here again.

United StatesI don't like the fact that the rooms and front door are open all the time. There is no type of security on the property. I don't like the fact that there is only one bathroom inside and the other bathroom is on the outside on the side of the building.
I really like the location, it's perfect to where I needed to be.

CanadaQuite a small place with relatively few inviting common spaces except the picnic tables outside. It’s just a converted house with low-end bunk beds crammed into the bedrooms. Not terribly clean. Only one indoor bathroom, with two others you had to access by going outside. Very small lockers only enough for a purse or a few small things.
Good location. Some of the staff were quite friendly. The sheets were comfy. Nice kitchen, decently stocked with cooking items.

ChileThe hostal had zero security. Anybody can enter the hostal cos the door was always open, they have four shared rooms but only to bathrooms, so one of the rooms that was supposed to be with private bathroom only for women, everyone from the hostel entered to the room to use the bathroom. The facilities were messy.
