Lifts where under constructions and I get it's something they need to update etc, just annoying in the morning. You had to wait for a lift long time to be able to fit in.

Location is prefect for Central Park and 5th Avenue. It's easy access to everywhere. Room I had was OK, nothing special but I stayed only for one night! I did ask for a quiet room but I could hear a lot of noise from room next door until late at night, so not ideal. Bed was comfortable.

Even though I paid in full through booking.com, I was debited over €900.00 on the card swiped on arrival without notice or explanation and now I'm trying to get my money back. Nightmare.

Elevators were painful. I know there were some improvements but it could be managed better considering the number of elevators they have.

Only one elevator worked to get to our floor. We then took the stairs a lot and appreciated the interesting info posted at each floor. Also didn’t realize that so many of the rooms had windows that faced in towards the wall.

Great location! Perfect for Carnegie Hall, Central Park, Times Square.

Although there are positive posters around, one of the 2 lifts servicing the 14th floor did not work the whole 10 days we were there. Upgrades are on the way apparently. Now this hotel is very popular for schools and travel groups, keep that in mind when booking your room above a level where you are prepared to walk up stairs. This one lift is now also overworked and there are "peak hours" to avoid. Most places only open after 10am in NY, so use that to plan your ascend and descend in the hotel/

Location close to park was great, short walk to Time Square and on the corner of the Subway. Staff was exceptional, from the doorman to the cleaning lady.

They had no system during 10 days of my stay. But worst of all, are elevators. They take ages to get there, people line up at any hrs, and when they work, they stop in every floor. For a hotel this nice in such a great location that needs to be improved, they just don't work.

Busy lobby area with not many reception staff to deal with customers especially on arrival the computer system had gone down. Lift system poor but we were pre-warned of this. Cleaners hoovering at midnight & noisy neighbours- no sound proofing especially through interconnecting room. Street noise even though on 9th floor we needed ear plugs to sleep.

The elevators were incredibly slow. We were on the 15th floor and decided by the second day that using the stairs was faster. On three occasions we noticed that we were faster than folks on our floor who waited for the elevators.

The elevators were appalling. There were signs asking us to bear with them but it really was unacceptable. When the call buttons broke and I had to use the stairs the staff member merely commented that they could not be responsible for electronics. Hotels now charge facility fees - we should get a discount off that is something this central isn’t working. Two other bugbears - street noise in the middle of the night was the worst I have experienced and rooms have nowhere near enough lighting. You can’t get dressed in a room that just has bedside lamps and a desk lamp.

We know the location well and it’s the main attraction.

Beds were very comfortable. Great view to the street and quiet. Nice hot water.
