There were no smoke alarms or carbon monoxide detectors that we could find - just the empty bases attached to the ceiling.

At night, it got cold , and the heat only went up to 75 degrees. It didn't have any other blankets or cover except what was on the bed. The elevator was a little dirty, and it had a slight smell in it. Publice parking is near but expensive to use. However, the parking lot on the back of the building would be an ideal lot to use even if it's an extra cost added if need be. It'll be well worth it.

The location was excellent. It's near all the attractions downtown. The view of both stadiums was amazing. And everything is in walking distance.

Absolutely everything! It was comfortable, excellent location, great views & super clean! Great value for such a great location. Centrally located & within walking distance to everywhere downtown. We parked in the opera house parking garage overnight from 8:30 p.m. to about 9 a.m. and it was only $25.00. Great parking option!

Just remember: This is an apartment in a city. We stayed on a Friday night and a group of college alums were partying across the hall. They quieted down by 10pm, so we count ourselves lucky.

PERFECT for events at the Fox Theatre, Comerica Park, Ford Field, Detroit Opera House, etc. Super easy, 24-hr parking (for a fee) at the Opera House lot next door. Clean, spacious for 2, & quiet.

It was a fine place. The furnishings were ordinary. There was nothing special about it so I resent being pressured by all types of businesses to rate things as 5. The whole rating system is corrupt.

There were 3 different codes. One for the building, one for the elevator and one for the apartment. This was annoying

From arrival to check out, It was cold even with the radiators turned to high. The bedroom only stayed warm with the door closed. Both kitchen and bathroom soap dispensers were low. The bathroom vent could use a really good cleaning. The bathroom sink drain has a slight odor emitting from it. The tub didn't drain properly, so the water got to about above my feet and stayed until I was done and stepped out. It fully drained about 3 minutes later. I noticed a cobweb behind the entrance door as well as the "gap" at the top of the door where the weather stripping should/could be replaced. The instructions for entry "after hours" should be clearer as we came back from a concert around 1am. Came through the front entrance, got to the glass door, put the door code in, and was denied access. After a few attempts, we decided to try the other door, a few feet from the front door, and were successful. I feel that if the front entrance isn't available " after hours," the directions should state so. The full-length mirror in the bedroom had quite a bit of dust build up. All these are fixable, only if brought to attention. If this was my business, I'd want to know these things. Call me a nit-picker or extremely observant. Again, I WILL ABSOLUTELY recommend Ashley Apartments to anyone looking for a perfect place downtown!

I LOVED the location! The apartment itself was super cute. Very spacious and decorated beautifully. The TV is super easy to use. The wifi is a plus. The coffee maker & available coffee is really a nice touch! I think the fact that there's a full kitchen is an awesome availability in case your stay is extended. Though the constant codes to get in and out are a bit of a nuisance mainly for the elevator, I greatly appreciate the security it gives to keep out those that aren't staying. Regardless of my "dislikes" below, I will absolutely keep this place in mind for places to stay in Detorit!! Everything is within walking distance in the summer or a few minute lyft drive!

The elevator didn’t work the evening we returned from the game and we had to use the stairs to the ninth floor. Minimally annoying. The windows in the apartment need a wash, but the view of the stadium is awesome!

The property was walking distance to Comerica Park. We walked to and from the Tigers game. Enjoying dinner at Louie’s close by. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and well stocked with necessities. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic location! A very short walk to Comerica Park, Ford Field and Fox Theater. The unit was as described, clean and comfortable. Being located next to the Detroit Opera House was convenient.

There were a few small things that could be better, easy fixes: we loved how light the apartment was, but at night most of the blinds couldn't close. Either the string to lower them was cut/broken off, or the catch just didn't release. A few dish towels in the kitchen would be helpful.

Location was great. We walked to the ballgame and were in easy walking distance to several public transportation hubs. The apartment had great light, lots of windows, beautiful sunsets!

The value for the money can’t be beat, especially downtown. The space is clean, comfortable, and perfectly located. We had a slight issue with the tub drain, but maintenance was sent over quickly and resolved the problem. We’ll definitely be staying here again when we’re in Detroit.

I didn’t like that there wasn’t a tv or a radio or any noise machine in the bedroom. that’s my only little nitpick. I just played some music on my phone though and was able to go to sleep.

I liked that it had a full kitchen the natural light in there is awakening and refreshing, it is very clean and easy to get to. located in a great area.
