Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe front door doorknob was somewhat difficult for me to turn. There is only street parking for cars in what seems to be a compacted neighborhood area.
The location is convenient to public transportation. Also. You could walk to some other places. The accommodations were a bit like sleeping in a treehouse, but I was fit for the adventure of it.

MexicoThe environment is somewhat uncomfortable because nobody speaks to you or greets you, in addition to the fact that it smells bad at night and people grab your stuff (happens with my towel, it was drying in my pod and someone changed it to place). I think it would be necessary to have more control to prevent that other people touches your things and more ventilation-cleaning in the hostel.
The location made it quite easy to get to various places because the metro was a 9-minute walk away.

United StatesThe guy who runs it is super chill and a kind person. People do wake up at literally 5am on a Sunday to dig around in their stuff, eat, and complain, so you do wake up early and need earplugs. Like most hostels there are people who've been staying too long and feel like it's their house and overstep the boundaries by the way they talk to the really nice manager and how the rules dont apply to them anymore like quiet hours and not making others uncomfortable. I didn't like how the manager was talked to within 10 minutes after I got there. During a very loud argument one of the people who lives there tried to engage him in. He was super chill and didn't indulge in the super petty argument and was just trying to be as accommodating and understanding as possible. I'm sure the guy got what he wanted by being a brat anyway but I feel everyone should pay the same price especially when they shout out for everyone to hear how much they pay compared to a new person on the weekend rate. Everyone should pay the same but they dont. So I like the place and the guy who runs it is so nice his accomidations should get a 10 I only lowered it due to the guests being so noisy at literally 5am. 5am is not a cool time to start digging through your junk and making food so loud yoy are waking people up, and to start complaining out loud at 7am from the one person who throws tantrums. This one person just talks to himself about negative stuff and the place is so small his negative presence was felt. I believe I had a conversation with this person who was whining so much and he told me he beat someone up over a pair of shoes??? Really lame. He was complaining that they tried to make him pay the same as everyone else with stacks of expensive shoes scattered around his bed. Plus he found the time to go out after someone on a holiday to fight them then come back and brag about it.

United StatesMy Unpleasant Experience and Observations During My Recent Stay Starting off with a bit of humor, like Tiffany Haddish joked, “don’t stay there, I stayed there and I was f*cked by a ghost.” However, my experience was haunted not by spirits but by the poor treatment I received right from the start. When I arrived at your establishment, the staff member who greeted me—without even introducing himself—was overtly rude. His demeanor was off-putting, fitting the stereotype of the dismissive and sassy type who seems indifferent to customer care. More critically, his behavior felt racially charged, which suggested to me that as a Black man, I was not welcome. It was my birthday, and yes, I had been drinking, but I was composed and quiet, hardly the disruptive guest. I was merely looking for a peaceful place to rest after deciding against driving back to Riverside in my condition—a choice made in the interest of safety. Despite this, the reception I received was anything but welcoming. The lodging setup, with its cool bunkbeds and queen beds, was the only aspect that met my expectations. The next morning, after trying to catch up on rest from a night out, I encountered the same staff member whose continued rudeness was now compounded by the discomfort of an overly warm building without air conditioning. When I politely inquired about the possibility of using a fan—after noticing him dismissively tending to his nails and not acknowledging my presence—he responded with an eye roll and a reluctant gesture towards a fan in the hallway. This interaction was starkly different from what I observed with another guest, a Japanese man, who received warm, engaging conversation from the same staff member. This difference in treatment only reinforced my perception of racial bias, as it was clear I was being singled out. Standing at 6 feet 7 inches with a presence I carry with pride, I could not help but feel targeted for the color of my skin.
The one aspect of this property that met my expectations was its location, which was ideally situated for my birthday celebrations.
