The jacuzzi was tiny! The pool was okay but also fairly small. The only real issue was how noisy it was- you could hear people coming and going all the time. I guess it was because of the way the condos were built with windows that opened, but it was really difficult in the morning as people were going out and you could hear every single sound.

The condo had everything we needed for a one week stay- the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, etc.

Three levels, no elevator. Shower water was cold everyday. When we inquired. We were told we were only the 3rd level and we should take showers early in the day. They only do cleaning if you stay 10 nights (we stayed 9) but they provided limited supplies for cleaning yourself and who wants to do that on your vacation.

Location was central to many activities in the area. Kitchen was helpful for us as we prepared many of our own meals. The grounds were well kept. Room was comfortable. Wifi was extremely helpful. Staff was friendly.

We got the ground floor apartment basically the cellar. Insects (moths, mosquitos, other undefined insects) even made it through the fly screens that they have put on windows and the open spaces from the wooden house. We were 3 people in the apartment (for 4 persons) . There is one King size bed and 1 sofa bed. The mattress of the sofa bed was so uncomfortable that we ended up sleeping with 3 people in the king size bed. Luckily we were skinny enough. Cleaniness was OK, but the sofa bed was dusty even the mattress. Furniture in general is a bit outdated. There is no room service throughout the stay. If you want towels to be changed you have to request it at the reception. Considering the price of the apartment I would expect more things to be complimentary. Limited Shampoo, coffee, etc if you need more they charge you a fee.

Ventilation was not great. There were these strange vents with a screen that open to the outside so there was no sound barrier. The ac did nothing to dry the moisture in the air and didn't cool much, it took wet swimsuits days to dry.

Location was great, we wanted to stay in the north and this location was just east of the closed Hanelei bridge so we could get into Hanalei easily but weren't trapped there all the time. The place was clean and comfortable though a little rundown. Fine for the price.

Ok so I didn’t expect the cottages to be as dated as it was. Definitely time for renovations. Coffee machine in kitchen needs to be updated as well. The room was sealed for cleanliness, however, the floors felt sticky and I found pubic hair in the bathroom. The outside patio was also very dirty, we had to wipe the table and chairs down ourselves.

Princeville itself is beautiful but overcrowded. However the location of Makai Resort didn’t feel congested and offered beautiful views of Hanalei mountains. We booked a 2 bedroom cottage and felt it was more than enough room for the 5 of us. Very spacious and a lot of windows with cool breeze circulating through the cottage. The beds were very comfortable. Staff was helpful from the start to checkout, mahalo to the local staff there.

It’s located on the north shore so we had to do a lot of driving to get to our excursions but we got to see so much of the island this way!

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay here because the pictures online looked a little outdated. We got a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo & it was SO great! It was super spacious, clean & had all the amenities we wanted like a kitchen & washer/dryer unit. The staff here is amazing— so kind, friendly & helpful! The property also has a pool, beach chairs & umbrellas you can use for the duration of your stay, snorkel gear & boogie boards for rent, bikes for use & daily activities you can participate in if you want to! It is close to Queens bath which is a must see & Hanalea which is a cute little town! Overall, we had a great time & would absolutely stay here again!

Pretty but too noisy. Sound carries across the valley. 10 PM quiet hour and staff will not do anything to reduce noise before then including screaming, and loud conversations from the pool or other patios. Staff said the beach was a five minute walk – it’s a 12 minute drive. Impossible to get rest here with the many roosters crowing from 4:30 AM until 7:30 AM constantly. Beds were uncomfortable and caused pain for both of us in separate rooms. One of them you could actually roll off of if you tried to sleep in the middle. Staff offered to change them out after we said we were leaving early. Too little too late
