Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesPillows too hard/lofty, couldn't adjust the temp in room despite engineer's efforts. 79 degrees! UGH! The breakfast was $26 and I only had some oatmeal and a few pieces of fruit. Outrageous. I don't eat big breakfasts. You have to join their One Club or whatever it's called to get a complimentary breakfast and a bottle of water. Traffic can be gnarly. Not their fault of course.
Comfortable bed and location to my client. Price was decent for NYC. People were nice. Kenneth, the engineer who tried to fix the thermostat in my room was very professional. Clean. Nice bathroom and shower. Very close to WTC if you're going there.

AustriaNo wardrobe (or hooks to hang clothes outside of the closet.) The hinges of the refrigerator door were broken and the door did not fully shut. (Inside a cabinet ) There was thick ice inside and energy was lost.
Excellent location. We were lucky to have a quiet and spacious room with a good view of the (new) World Trade Center site at a good rate. Good breakfast. Coffee machine and good quality coffee tabs as well as tea supplied at the room. We will come back!

NetherlandsEverything was great. The room is a tad on the smaller side (for two persons), but it worked out just fine.
The location is superb, close to the metro and the WTC. The bedroom and bathroom are aesthetically pleasing and clean. The bed is really comfortable, which is very needed to rest after a day of exploring the city.

GermanyNot really a view from the room, but the hotel doesn't boast with one. Temporarily construction site at the entrance. The bar/breakfast room was not appealing and therefore not used by the guests.
Clean, relatively spacious rooms. Comfy beds. Good location (subway close by).

FranceThere are 4 elevators but for some strange reason, only one would work in the morning so there were days were it took me 7 minutes to get downstairs.
The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood and very convenient to travel around the city (many subway stations). The room was simple but very confortable. The bed is really good and there wasn't a single noise at night. The team was also very welcoming and sweet :-)

GermanyBreakfast was a bit pricey like 25dolars p.p.
The location of the hotel is very good, in between two subway stations- the World Trade Center and Rector Street. The entire Financial district, and Brooklyn Bridge within walking distance. 20mins with subway to the Uptown. We are a family with 2 kids (7yrs and 2yrs old) the size of the room is sufficient when compared to other NYC hotels we previously stayed in. We very much appreciated having a microwave in the room, also an iron. Breakfast quality and variety of food was not really good for NYC hotels. The staff working at breakfast was very polite and kind. Overall a great stay, best we’ve had in NYC, and we visited several times. Plus very quiet, we didn’t hear any noise around.

United StatesThe comforter and two of the pillows had a few gross stains, I didn't bother to request new ones though. I just didn't use them while I was sleeping. Everything else was fairly clean. The breakfast buffet was nice but maybe a bit disorganized, the service was great, though!
The bathroom and the room layout were really nice. It was pretty simple and exactly what I needed. There weren't many drawers which didn't bother me since I was only staying for a couple of nights, so I didn't fully unpack. The location was really close to the subway which was great!

GermanyIn our room there was a pungent chemical smell that didn’t fade over our stay of four days. The room itself was quite small but that might apply to most rooms in central New York. I would have liked conditioner in the shower.
The location of the hotel is very good, close to many metro stations.
