Pool needs to be emptied and scrubbed. The tile along the sides had alot of scum green/blackish scum.

The rooms were updated and Beautiful. Very clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The weekend we visited the pool had just opened up. The pool was nice but needs a good scrubbing. The tile along the inside of the pool has alot of buildup.

There was a refrigerated tractor trailer parked outside our room. It started up every hour and ran for about 15 minutes. It was loud and woke us up every time it started. We complained at the desk when we checked out and were told they would see what they could do for us. It was VERY disappointing that we couldn't get a decent night's sleep.

The Hotel was under renovation so some construction going on. The hot breakfast could have been better. There was a smell or odor in the hallways.The fitness room was outdated.

The location was ok, close to stores and restaurants.A short drive to Acadia National Park. The staff was friendly and there was fresh cookies by the front desk.

For me the biggest issue was the price. First of all, the hotel was in shambles since they were in the middle of construction. We were shocked by the appearance when we first got there and left a bad taste in our mouths. They should have offered reduced pricing during this time. Again, the room itself was nice and clean but the general experience was negative. It was also very expensive for a hotel outside of Bar Harbor. While it is only about 20 minutes away we still paid a premium price.

Its a bit tricky reviewing this place since we got there while they were in the middle of construction/upgrades. As such, certain areas were full of building materials and dust. Additionally the parking lot was full of building materials. And also full of potholes. Once you got passed that initial shock the hotel itself was nice. The breakfast was just ok. Not elaborate. The room itself was spacious and clean. We had a room with a mini kitchen which we really used and found it perfect for our needs. Beds were ok - not the best beds we ever had. Not the worst either. There is a supermarket literally 30 seconds away walking distance which was also very helpful. Ellsworth is about 20 minutes outside Bar Harbour so getting back and forth was not bad.

There are a couple of areas that I found less-than-perfect. However, they did not affect my satisfaction with our stay. The only reason that I rated Facilities as Good rather than Excellent is the fact that some sections of the property are under renovation, including a couple sections of the public areas. However, those sections were clean and had no obstructions or barriers to accessing other public areas. The hotel staff and renovation staff have done as good a job as possible to minimize the impact of the current renovation work on the ability of the guests to use and enjoy the property. WiFi was free, and it worked well for basic internet activities, but signal strength varied from time to time, and it disconnected briefly on occasion. This was at most a very minor inconvenience for me when using YouTube to watch some videos. I did not try using video streaming services or an MMORPG. The only reason I rated Value as Good rather than Excellent is the fact that the cost per night was a little higher than I would have liked. However, my stay was during high tourist season for the area, and the price was fair and within the range that I expected for the type of property and its amenities, the area, and the season.

I especially appreciate the courtesy and helpfulness of the front-desk staff, especially for immediately noticing and accommodating the mobility issues of one member of our party by offering to move us from a 2nd-floor room to a 1st-floor room. I had failed to mention the mobility issue when making our reservation. The property does feature a stair lift from the first-floor guest level to the main lobby and breakfast room. The self-service breakfast buffet was what we expected, and the staff there were wonderful. Our stay was only one night, and we were in town for a family event, so we didn't have the opportunity to make use of the in-room kitchenettes other than storing a couple of cold drinks in the full-size refrigerator. The kitchenette reminded me of the amenities in a by-the-week timeshare that we use regularly, and I would happily use the kitchenette during a multi-day stay in the future.

Our sink and tub didn’t drain well. And our heater blew cold air, but fortunately it was warm enough in room we didn’t need the heat. Also, I don’t understand why there’s no exhaust fan in bathroom to use when taking a shower.

Location to where we needed to visit was perfect. Also, staff was very friendly! Especially Nancy who took care of the breakfast area! She was always keep things clean and stocked. And was super friendly. We met her last year when we were here and look forward to seeing her again next year.

I did not like the fact that the room with an accessible bathroom only had 1 queen bed. I would have preferred an accessible bathroom with 2 queen beds.
