Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThere's no fridge in the room. When you order from the restaurant in the hotel, they don't give you any plates.
I Like the staff and the location. The rooms are beautiful and clean.

United StatesWhen the reviews (which I rarely give muxh consideration to) say the walls are thin, BELIEVE IT! Unless you’re a very heavy sleeper, you will clearly hear the next rooms conversations. Ear plugs and you’ll be fine. That shouldn’t be necessary in a spendy hotel, but it is. Otherwise good place in Chelsea
Good location. 2 blocks from subway.

AustraliaWe had to move rooms due to noisy night club and hot water failed to reach the higher floors.
Staff were very helpful in moving us to a different room. Bottled water and snacks provided in the lobby each day was great for our big day of walking around Chelsea.

United KingdomThe air conditioning was very noisy but very effective. I had to ask for tea, coffee etc as only one tea bag and one regular coffee was provided. One day no milk or water was provided. Awful lot of plastic thrown away each day as every cup is wrapped in plastic. Reusable mugs would be much better for the environment and for the user.
The room was a good size with great views of the City, and even a glimpse of the Empire State Building. Lovely welcome from the receptionist when we arrived. Helpful with storing luggage and getting taxis etc. Great position for most sights and quiet location.

CanadaShould have a mini fridge to keep snacks and drinks cold. Continental breakfast should be included , $30 each for breakfast was very expensive. The bar on the top floor was very strange as it is treated as a separate entity. It added congestion to the elevators and it was freezing due to the door being opened.
The facilities were beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was ideal for what we wanted to see. The beds were very comfortable and we felt safe.

United KingdomNight club boom boom boom can be heard in higher rooms. I was on 32 and could hear it, get a room lower than that if you like sleep. To be fair check in staff did tell me about it and I changed from 34 to 32 to start with.
Great location, just outside mid town so much nicer environment. Good location to walk down to meat packing district or SoHo, lots of subways stations near by. City view room was awesome, amazing to wake up looking at Empire State Building and Manhattan.

It was the PERFECT location; easy to walk to major landmarks or just great restaurants/cafes. The hotel was safe and seemed newly renovated; would recommend! Also a plus- the rooms weren't the size of a shoe box (like i've experienced at other NYC hotels)!

United KingdomI had messaged ahead to let the hotel know we were visiting the city to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday. I had rather hoped we would get a room with a spectacular view of the Empire State Building as other reviewers had. Sadly, while we were allocated the city view rooms we paid for, no exceptional view. The rooftop bar and pool are also deceptively inaccessible to hotel guests as it is a completely separate commercial venture so if you’re expecting to be able to pop up to take in the city views and enjoy a cocktail, it’s harder than you think. I also enquired about the hotel free bike hire as it would have been great to explore the city that way but was told this was a spring/summer only amenity (we were there in April!)
Our stay at the Renaissance Chelsea was close to perfect. Great location in leafy, hip Chelsea, away from the really busy areas of the city and but close to everything we wanted to visit either on foot or by bus/subway. Amazing staff (especially the bellman, housekeeping and front of house staff). Great breakfast too - continental breakfast offered as part of the Marriot Bonvoy members deal but we upgraded to full breakfast using the daily destination fee credit. Really fresh, ample buffet every day with lots of variety to cater for all tastes. Lovely, welcoming restaurant staff too.

United StatesThe room was nice, although small. Walls are too thin; I could hear people's conversation and when they coughed! Ridiculous. I also would prefer that the resort fee (a $30 credit for each day) would roll over be available until check out time, instead of the 'use it or lose it' approach. Breakfast was entirely overpriced! Ordering room service was a disaster. They must have been really busy because no one ever picked up my call, which made it harder to use the $30 credit.
Room was nicely decorated and clean. I was there 3 nights and housekeeping tended to my room each day I was there (that's amazing)! Many hotels require you to 'request' housekeeping. Staff was friendly.

BelgiumThe view of the room was poor. They forgot to clean the room one day and most disturbing was they charge you 30 usd to spend in the hotel. If you don’t use it they charge you anyway. It should we communicated before you book the hotel.
Most positive was the location in 25th street and subway is in 23th. Neighbourhood was calm and nice. Every day there was free water and chips.
