Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe view from the room was into other properties but we were out in the city for the views not sitting in our room!
Great stay and location out of main tourist town. Could walk to Chinatown, Little Italy and both Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges but felt like a local. The staff on reception were really friendly, helpful and polite. Our room was ideal for 1adult & 2 kids, kept clean and restocked everyday. Quite neighbours. We are in local deli's and bakeries to watch the real NYC. F line subway a few minutes walk gave easy connections to uptown, JFK airport and Brooklyn.

United KingdomThe hotel is relatively good value for New York. A fridge in the room would have been nice. A charge was made to leave luggage on the final day despite having stayed a week and paid a lot to do so. This seems excessive.
A well located hotel in the Lower East Side close to Dimes Square and two subway stations. The hotel is also a short walk to the Financial District and SoHo. The room was spacious (for New York) with a comfortable bed, air-con and a decent bathroom. Cleaning service was daily. There was also a coffee machine in the room which was nice to have.

CanadaThe bed was too short, it might be a good idea to add some shelves to the bathroom as there wasn’t much space to place things.
Nice staff, convenient location, great deal for the price. There is a water filter to fill your water bottle, every receptionist was super kind and helpful, room was smaller, but it had everything we needed.

CroatiaThere are carpet floors accros the room which are not clean, it is not hygienic…if there already are carpet floors which can not be washed fully, the accomodation should provide some slippers. It was too hot in the room, we could not regulate the temperature. There is no closet for clothes.

United StatesThe only drawback for me was the desk chair. I needed to do some work on my laptop, and it was not comfortable to sit in.
A lovely little hotel! The bed was fantastic. Very comfortable mattress and pillows; all very clean and up-to-date. Quiet even in the midst of the city. Appreciated the complimentary bottles of water and little snacks in the room. Plenty of lamps and ways to charge your phone.

United KingdomThe traffic and subway noise from the road and Manhattan Bridge can be quite loud.
Very happy that we stayed in the Lower East Side on the fringe of Chinatown. From the hotel it is a short walk to China town and to Little Italy, the East Broadway subway station is close by and there are nice lively bars within minutes. The hotel is clean and the staff are helpful friendly and polite, very professional. There's always coffee available in the lobby and the hotel was experimenting with a free glass of wine for guests returning to the hotel in the early evening. I was surprised that the World Trade Centre was reasonably easy to walk to, so although LES it is very convenient for visiting the rest of Manhattan. I would definitely consider staying here again.

IrelandResort fees, although cheap by NY standards, not a resort, and you're paying $20 a day for coffee in the lobby and water. Still reasonably priced by New York standards though.
Nice hotel, nice room, good view. Not really close to metro, but a few minutes walk. And in a less touristy earlier, more local New York. Great view (from bathroom), nice staff.

IrelandIt is beside a fire station so you can often hear sirens going off at any time but we weren’t particularly disturbed by the noise. The rooms are very small and there was no space to put away clothes etc.
Great location, close to subway stops and plenty of restaurants nearby. The room was small but the bed was very comfortable and the hotel was really quiet. It was great value for money and easy to get to and from.

United StatesThree out of five pillows smell like bad body odor. Tells you something about how they often clean their bedding. Room is small, but in Manhattan and with this price what can you ask for.
Excellent location, close to all transportations, close to Chinatown and all the cheap food but still nice and quite. Nice staffs, willing to help. Very affordable price, considering price elsewhere in Manhattan. Clean enough.

GermanyThe room had no closets to put the clothes away, but that was not a big deal for me. Also, I wish there was more than one duvet - some nights were cold.
The room was well isolated from the outside noise. The cleaning crew came every day and refilled our coffee and snacks. They had an adapter in the room, which was very useful for our European plugs. Considering it's NY, the room was quite spacious and on a great location.
