United States3 reviews“Perfect for our small family”I do wish there was a more of a connection/communication with the owner. We did not receive our confirmation with details on address/check in procedures until a few days prior to the trip. Then upon arrival, I sent a text saying we had “checked in” and only received a reply from a property manger. Upon check out at the end of the week, I sent a text saying we had checked out and never got a response back. Everything was fine at the cabin. We had no issues and it all worked out, but there would have been release of pressure and/or increase in comfort when you know the owner is a person and also appreciates/thanks you for your stay. Not a huge issue, but this is the first property we’ve stayed at with this little of contact with the owner. Some have been way to involved where we never feel left alone, but this one I felt too disengaged with the owner. Up until 2-3 days before our stay, I had questioned whether it was a scam. I had read there was to be contact a month in advanced and began to get nervous as we were getting packed and buying groceries for a trip we were sure was to happen. As for the property, we were disappointed in how several of the doors would not open/close appropriately. Since we had young kids (5,3,6 mths) it was hard to keep their doors closed. The screen door also did not open well and would slam shut if left to close on its own. The dock was great, but we were disappointed in how shallow it was (only about 3 feet at the end of the dock) and when we wanted to swim out past the dock, there were weeds, leaves, and sticks all around which made it uncomfortable to stand/swim.
We loved the size of the cabin and how close we were to the water. There were plenty of things that helped make staying in the cabin comfortable: throw blankets, books and games, smart tv with several streaming services, internet, laundry, an excellent heating and cooling system, clean bathrooms and comfortable beds. We loved the screened in porch and the deck. We did really appreciate the black out curtains in the bedrooms to help the kids go to bed. The kitchen met all of our needs.
