I should have gotten a discount since I worked for SSM st.Marys. I checked in with my scrubs and badge on. Because. I went through Booking, and they would not give me the discount. That won't happen again.

The staff was very helpful and friendly.

The property seems a little neglected and could use some investment / felt old and not too clean in all areas Main reason for booking was to take advantage of the pool but disappointed there is no bar and no music for the pool and main bar not open before 3pm Breakfast is pretty lame - would be nice to have options to order from a menu

Well received at the reception - staff were all friendly Location is perfect Bar was nice when it was open Pool Proximity to restaurants

Trash was constantly full in public areas. Staff at front desk wasn’t super friendly (except Mick-he was great). We booked online through a 3rd party and the front desk seemed a bit unwilling to help with questions knowing that detail. Pool area not maintained. Breakfast area not maintained.

From the moment I walked into the hotel, I could tell they did not care about the customers. The girl at the front desk, was rude, inattentive, and mad me fill very disrespected. Mold in the bathroom by commode and shower. No room service due to covid (what's the difference they clean the rooms when you leave?) The pool is supposed to have an attendant but never did. The pool lining is loose and bobbling up at the step area. The furniture by the pool is extremely dirty. The towel area was not touched both days I was there.

The bear in the dining hall was cool

The pillows were not comfortable. We only had one towel and wash cloth. I called the desk to ask for additional towels and was told I had to come to the desk to pick them up. They do not bring to your room. No ventilation in the bathroom. No sink outside the bathroom. There were cookies and empty bottles under one of the beds. Staff was okay but not overly friendly by any means. Parking was a bit of a headache.

This was the only place that had any available rooms. The history around the hotel was pretty cool.

Our room lacked even a chair to sit in other than an office chair! There was no way to turn off the bathroom light so it stayed on all night and it sure would be nice if there was a mini frig in the room!

The ambience of the hotel was great and the breakfast was enjoyable. The location was also a plus.

Service at Fox and Hounds was not good. You have to go to the bar to order and the bartenders were not friendly. Food was good but was disappointed with the service.

Loved the room and your breakfast was delicious…. the bagels and fruit were so fresh. Ate at Basso one night and Fox and Hounds another night. Both were very good.

They don’t clean rooms during your stay. You have to request refills for in room coffee machine, soap, shampoo, lotion and towels from the front desk. One person at the front desk was very rude, other staff were nice. No coffee brewed in the lobby in the morning. Black mold on shower curtain. The building is old so the HVAC sounds like a plane landing.

great location for visiting Washington University in STL or Clayton.

There was a previous tenants sock left on the opposite side of the bed in our room, aside from that it was clean. The value of the room did not meet what I expected. The breakfast was simply muffins, drinks and bagels. No eggs or any "breakfast food" that's nutritious to speak of. Most of the services that this hotel brings that stand it out from another hotel were of course closed to the winter, but I'd hope in that case the price would be lowered.

The main floor was very scenic and welcoming.

Didn’t like the pet friendly policy. Dog hair on bedding, floors and chair. We’re not pet people. Like smoking in the past, perhaps pet friendly and non pet friendly rooms. Room was a little tired.

Vintage English theme. Staff were very helpful even printed my beloved crossword. Good choices at the breakfast buffet. Yummy scrambled eggs. Amazing fresh berries. Loved the cozy lobby with a real wood burning fireplace.

Gym had 3 of 5 machines broken. I was demeaned at the desk 3 separate times. Once because a 25 year old “ woke” person yelled at me because I said “maid” instead of room attendant or housekeeper. NO maid service at all. I had to get towels, toilet paper, etc. no change of sheets in 5 days. Hallways were 50-60 degrees. Walls were thin as one night we heard people having intercourse multiple times squealing. Breakfast was marginal quality. Room was so small and nonfunctional that you could not do anything g in the room unless you sat in the bed. I had to get my room key changed 3 times as it became nonfunctional. For $200+/ night it was crap. I almost moved out on Day 2 and Day 3 of my 5 day stay here.

Location was fantastic. Nothing else was even fair

Staff was rude, musty smell throughout hotel, extreme dirty, no housekeeping for the entire weekend. All the images posted on the hotels website were not what it was in real life. We had no toilet paper in the room or towels and called the front desk for some and they refused to bring anything up and we had to go downstairs and pickup anything we needed. One of the headboard on the bed was torn up and looked like it had been clawed.

    Nothing.

The staff is very friendly, and the location is perfect for my needs.

I usually stay here when I travel to St. Louis. The staff is very friendly as usual, but the the standards of care have slipped by a HUGE margin. Coffee was late, breakfast consistently very late, Towel service inadequate; all typical amenities (rooms made up, trash emptied, towels exchanged were all self serve. I experienced a less than professional check in experience; the common areas were not cleaned well at all; the were many things about the room and the facility that were substandard. I have heard others suggest that they will not come back here. I am not certain I will return unless I hear that there have been significant changes to bring the hotel back to the standards for which we are paying.
