How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Not an issue but be mindful there’s a large set of stairs to enter the hostel.
Excellent stay in Hollywood. Close to the metro bus and subway stations. Walking distance to several attractions and a short bus/train/uber ride to others. The room was large and comfortable beds. The shared amenities were clean and easily accessible. Staff on site were friendly and helpful. I felt safe and secure throughout my stay. Included breakfast was an excellent addition to this stay. Highly recommend for couples or singles.

Female bathroom is located only on level two. Its a hassel. It would-be great if toilet of all genders is located on each floor. Shower can be located on a specific floor

It is a bit uncomfortable to enter in the room while someone is already sleeping / resting.
The crowd is very nice. Value for money, it is located in the middle of Hollywood street. Bathrooms were clean. They have pool table to pass your free time. They provide healthy breakfast.

Mistreatment from the African American lady in the night shift
Best value for money. All the staff was really nice and helpful, but not the African American lady in night shifts unfortunately 😢

There was a bad piss like smell on my first day. Looks like they've taken care of it the next say though as it all smelled OK after. Just bad first impression.
It's right in the middle of Hollywood Boulevard action - Dolby Theatre, TCL Chinese Theatre, El Capitan, Ripley's, Guiness, shops and just across the metro station

There was no elevator.

The STAIRS !!! I brought 2 suitcase with me, the stairs literally kill my legs! Well, thats a price to pay for having a good location and cheap hostel in hollywood.
Decent staff, clean premises, clean room, decent breakfast, having a good conversation with fellow travelers in the dining room

Carrying big luggage was a hassle, especially with those steep stairs before reaching the reception. I was struggling the stairs, and a man walked past me. Upon reaching, this guy was the receptionist! lol. Couldnt even bothered asking for help. -- Talk about letdown - when you startoff disappointed- brace yourself for more disappointment throughout the entire stay.
Good location, metro across the street, free water, steps away from walk of fame.

The hostel does get very loud at night as it is located right on the Walk of fame. I usually do not need any earplugs to sleep but here, it was a must. The staff was not very involved with the guests for guidance or tours.
The location could not be better, all the gems of Hollywood are easily accessible. The rooms are clean and the privacy curtains are very appreciated and provide a feeling of privacy. The common bathrooms are also quite clean.

No lift. Difficult access with a heavy luggage. The room was a smelly.

I came to breakfast 10 minutes before it closed just to get a coffee but by the time I found the staff, it was 2 mins before the breakfast closed and they were adamantly removing the food and everything. I do understand, but clearly there was no coffee way before they had to clean up... And they were fairly unfriendly Everything else was great!
