How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room is smaller than I anticipated. It was comfortable for 2 people, but that is the max you could fit in this room. My suitcase barely fit between the bed and the wall. The shower glass was not long enough to prevent water from splashing out of the shower so we had to keep towels on the floor to soak up the water.
The hotel is located on State street where there are many shops, restaurants, and bars and only a few blocks from the beach. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.

There was nothing we didn’t like.
The property was perfect for our short stay in Santa Barbara. Spacious, clean and comfortable. The location was excellent, very central. Great communication and lovely staff.

Not much public space. Tiny , slow elevator. We had an Ada room which had little counter space in the bathroom and a tub no walk-in shower.

My husband is not crazy about parking fees, but old hotels did not consider cars. The valet was very convenient and you did have in and out privileges.
Lovely hotel. It looks like it is an old hotel but the place is updated and very comfortable. Plenty of eating options within walking distance. Even the beach is not too far away.

Musty perfume Odor in hallway 2nd floor and slow elevator. Finding entrance to Parking. I had to call to fiqure out how to enter since state street is blocked off. Parking fees.
State street shops and restaurants outside the door. Older unique ambiance.

Our air conditioner in our room was on fan , but all night we smelled bagel ! I don’t know why?
Location was good, but foods were so greasy and wasn’t good, we went to the good restaurants and got recommendations from front desk.

The strong cigarette smell emanating from the roos and halls even in a non smoking room and lack our fresh air (no ability to open windows and no bathroom fans)

It would have also been great if the hotel offered breakfast, especially when you consider the cost of the room each night. Also, I didn’t like how low the water pressure was in the shower. I didn’t particularly enjoy my showers as I felt it was too low for me to really feel like I was getting a decent shower.
The location of this hotel was excellent. Right in the downtown core so it was very easy to walk just about everywhere. The room was very charming and comfortable. Though small it was the perfect size for one person, but I think a couple would struggle to have enough space in a room this size And for those who need to get a workout in, the gym facilities looked pretty good. I’d planned on using them and noticed there was a Peleton. Although this place was pricey I would definitely stay here again.

Wish our room was a little larger, but it was great
I want to comment about the wonderful staff. Everyone of the staff I met were great, friendly and exceedingly helpful. A shout out to Iseral and the red headed girl who were the valets on staff the night we arrived, they went above and beyond to assist us. (I'm sorry that I didn't get to tip you, but if the office will let me know how, I plan to). Thanks to all!

I wish they would warn about the noise that you would hear from the neighboring bars and restaurants that are nearby. The specific room we stayed at was very loud until about 2am. We only stayed for one night or else we would have asked for a different room.
I really enjoyed how friendly the staff was and how easy checkin and checkout was. Overall a great stay!
