Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We spent five nights in the Ambrose Hotel at the end of May. Rooms were very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Lovely common indoor and outdoor area. We really appreciated the extra little touches they had in place for guests such as complimentary teas and coffee and wine in the evenings

United KingdomIf I had to say anything negative about the place, it’s not about the hotel itself, but it’s location among lots of medical centres where lots of ambulances (and their sirens going off) get despatched. So, a little extra noise that maybe you don’t expect, but this isn’t a massive tragedy and shouldn’t put you off staying here. It IS a very nice hotel.
When they say it’s a Boutique hotel, they ain’t lying. It’s a beautifully decked out premises with good sized rooms. The location, away from all the tourist hubbub, meant the place was sedate and relaxing. The staff were always on hand and helpful.

The hotel location was great quiet location half hour walk to Santa Monica front. Hotel was clean comfortable and had a lovely seating area where tea and coffee was served. A lovely extra was complimentary drinks between 6-8 every evening. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Angelina was fab giving advice on places to eat and drink. Beautiful bakery just across the road too!

Our room was spacious and clean, nicely furnished with an armchair and ottoman, desk and desk chair, large screen tv, refrigerator, and safe. Lovely bonus was a private outdoor patio right off our room on the top floor, with tree top views. It was like an oasis in the middle of the city. Calming and tranquil. Very good breakfast place right across the street too.
