Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

KuwaitCheck in counter is overly busy and crowded and is often difficult to get assistance. The in room dining + surcharge is excessively overpriced especially in comparison to tier 1 (four seasons, ritz, etc.) 5 star hotels. Finally, there happened to be a wedding on my arrival (which staff failed to mention to me) making it incredibly difficult to get some rest. The lack of insulation was a major issue throughout my stay. Also, very young unprofessional staff, lacks the quality/caliber of a five star hotel.

New ZealandThe Check In was totally chaotic - far too many people, far few staff. I was sent to the wrong building, with the wrong keys. The waiting staff, with the exception of the bartenders were absolutely appalling, they could not have given a toss about the guests - on their phones, chatting with each other while people waiting. Not a care in the world. FAR too expensive for such dismissive service.
The design is contemporary and very relaxed. The cocktail bar staff absolutely lovely. The Check In Manager was sensational esp as she had to recover for appalling service

United StatesThe room looks pretty old. It has central control system, but you will have to turn off lamps manually. There are three lamps in my room and i had to leave the bed to turn them all off. The place they put toilet paper is behind the toilet, which is very inconvenient to use. I made seven phone call, spend a whole hour to make the in room dining order. No one in the in room dining Team picked my phone calls. A stuff worked on the front desk promised me that he will call me back but he didn't. I waited for half hour and then called the front desk again. The problem was finally solved. However, considering this is a five star hotel with such expensive price, the Service is unexpectedly terrible. The five percent Health care charge is more expensive compared to many Michelin restaurant. The address showing on the Booking is not the entrance of the hotel. It is like a maze. There are many stairs. Moving with a luggage by your own to find the entrance is an unpleasant experience.
It looks fancy at the cafe. Staffs are kind.

United StatesUpon check in . The room was not ready at 4pm check in is at 3. After finally checked in . I noticed the switches on the wall by the bed doesn’t work . So you can’t turn off the lights or close the curtain. You have to walk to the ones by the door to do that. . I left the room around 8am and was back by 4pm . The room wasn’t cleaned. I called downstair and they send someone but I was in rush to get ready for dinner . All the in room products are weak . But staff are friendly .

FranceThe check-in staff is not very efficient (we were to have a speaker in our room and we never had it, even in asking everyday for three days, problems with payment and no solutions, asked for restaurant reservations that were never made ...). The pool is too small and you never get a place.
A beautifully designed place, with great restaurants and bar. Food and cocktails are very good, fresh and creative. great ambiance and music. And the staff there is welcoming and helpful. The partner spa is gorgeous (such a good body massage !).
