How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Arrived at 4:15pm and office was closed, the office door is plastered with handwritten notes which can get confusing. Had to wait til 5 to check in.

Pool bathroom could have been cleaner but as I was leaving the cleaning person was setting up.
Excellent staff, very professional, friendly and helpful. I was very comfortable with my stay so much that I booked another reservation.

Used toilet paper roll with edges obviously indicating usage was in the room with only one fresh toilet paper roll available. Internet speed is slow and disconnected a lot.
Location. Staff is friendly yet gives you your privacy. Bed is clean and comfortable.

I had to leave early by 11:00 a.m, check out time
No breakfast It was a safe place and away from the rainy night, and a place to take a warm shower! And enjoy a good nights rest on a comfy bed!

I wished that I had been given coffee for 2 mornings instead of only one, it would have been convenient to have more hangers in the closet, and I would have liked an ice maker and drinking water fountain on site.
I enjoyed that fact that the managers answered any questions I had before my stay and made sure I had all accommodations needed including extra towels, a later check in time, as well as soaps, coffee, and other amenities. Other hotel guests were kind and respectful. The pool was nice, too!

A better mattress would have made world of difference for us!
Decent, very clean but very basic room. Cost effective for what was needed. Unfortunately, the bed was not good.. very soft and left us with sore backs after one night.

The first bed was inches from the Window AC.. east fix though. I'll be back for all my other trips
The location is great for me. It's quiet. Feels safe. Washer and dryer work great. Pool is nice after a long day at work.

There was no service at all. TV didn't work. The office was closed, we called maintenance several times and nobody answered. I'm glad we just needed to spend the night.

No breakfast included. Thin pillows and blankets. No fan or ability to open window in bathroom. Airconditioner right beside bed which blew cold air directly onto me. Motel has changed their name but not their sign (Scandia Lodge).

The only thing I can say I didn't like was that there were stray cats on the property. Staff members and manager put food out for them overnight. I am a big animal lover but I think they should feed them further away from the main office and entrances. Additionally, you never know if anyone has allergies to cats.
Loved the Location. It was centrally located to everything. My room was very clean and I was booked for an extended stay of one month. The pool was clean and the staff was friendly as well.

The clerk gave me two phone numbers to call, when I complained the TV (which never worked) and for two days the internet service was out.. This was her job to see that the rooms were as advertised. The cleaning (gardening) crew was using leaf blowers at 7:30 in the morning.
The location was very nice and quiet for the most part. The Room and pool was acceptable

This property is close to being ideal for its price range. Few flaws. They Should have a talk with pest control people. TV would not get all channels nor would it turn off. A/C weak to really not working.

The place is quite old, and it could definitely be renovated a bit.
Overall it was a good experience. The staff is very nice and the property is well located, 15 minutes walk to the main street, where you can find nice restaurants, bars and cafés.
