How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There are no (glass) cups in the common kitchen.
All sights are in walking distance. Bicycle Rental is in front of the hotel, unfortunately I saw it too late, but could be a nice option.

The room should have been vacuum cleaned or broomed on a daily basis with all the sand you take home from the beach
The location is perfect! Within 5 minutes from Duval street, 6 minutes to the Most Southern Point of the USA, 8 min walk to Higgs Beach and private parking.

Everything meant my expectations. Great place for the price point.
It is a very nice place and an excellent value. The staff were very friendly and the location is excellent. Loved the Tiki patio area.

Overall the place is very basic. Nothing fancy, which is of course what I expected.
Nice little spot when traveling solo in Key West. Great location within walking distance to Duval Street. Friendly staff and nice, outdoor community space.

More common outdoor space/pool would be great but it was still nice.
Great location, walking distance from all the bars etc. Parking very handy as that is a bit of a pain in Key West.

It took quite a whole for the water to get hot but it was great after a few minutes Restock the library with more books or magazines We asked about renting bikes but got a vauge answer and ended up walking everywhere.
room was clean ad bed was comfy. Bathroom was clean and shower worked well Courtyard was comfortable and the little library was a pleasant surprise Staff gave us good suggestions of how to get lunch, etc.

A bit pricey
The dorm bed is very sturdy, made form wood, the room does not feel cramp even though it is a dorm, there is a space outside as well. Close to downtown Key West, short walk to the beach

The lighting in the room was not that great but I was there just for a night and only spent a few hours.
Friendly staff- they all were very patient and helpful. Location is good and you get what you pay for

There was no hot water in the morning, no real big deal. Internet was spotty due to the metal roof, again, no big deal.
The room was clean with a pleasant clean fragrance; the bathroom was clean, updated and roomy, with a walk in shower. There is a refrigerator, microwave and single cup coffee maker, all clean. There are cooking facilities in the courtyard for the guests to use. Very nice

I wish it wasn't that cold during the night and the space was just a bit bigger in the room.
Overall I liked it better than last year. Front desk was nicer. Besides it's not a bad value for Key West. Thanks :)

The only defect was for me the absence in the room of an even minimal space where to leave personal things, as a bag with cloths or bathing things.
The common area was super nice and the host very kind and happy to answer all my questions. The position was also good, near the centre and at 30 min by walk from Mallory square, passing through the main street full of bars and art galleries.

Provide paper towels and/or napkins in the kitchen area. Switch styrofoam cups to paper. Please provide blanket on beds or don't allow people to crank AC down to 65 degrees in the winter time. Bathroom is good sized & clean, but not really adequate for up to 10 people. Please provide hand towels in the bathroom for hand drying. Also, a bath mat would be great! More shelving + hangars in the dormitory are needed.

My only complain is that the beds in the shared rooms are too small for 1.8 m (5.9 ft) people or taller

I wish there were two bathrooms per pod instead of just one for so many people, but when I asked about an additional bathroom, I was told of one, and now I know!
The location was excellent, and the value fantastic! It was my first time staying at a hostel, and it won’t be my last. It was a little tight in the room with all the bunkbeds and the bathroom got messy with 10 people using it.
