Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesROOM WAS A BIT DATED: OLDER PAINT AND FIXTURES. TEENY TINY ROOM. WE WERE A PARTY OF TWO STAYING IN A ROOM WITH TWO DOUBLE BEDS, YOU WILL STEP ON EACH OTHER MOVING ABOUT THE ROOM. VERY VERY BASIC FURNISHINGS, COFFEE MAKER DIDNT WORK BUT SO MANY GREAT PLACES RIGHT OUTSIDE, JUST WALK TO GET COFFEE.
NO FRILLS, NO EXTRAS, JUST BEDS AND A SMALL ROOM. PARKING IS EXTRA - $25 PER NIGHT. LOCATION IS THE BEST PART, RIGHT ON MARKET AT VALENCIA, CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN, MISSION DISTRICT, CASTRO ETC. F-LINE STOP VERY CLOSE TO THE HOTEL. SMALL FRIDGE AND MICROWAVE IN THE ROOM. BRAZILIAN BBQ PLACE ACROSS THE STREET (5 STARS ON THAT RESTAURANT), MARTINI/PIANO BAR ALSO ACROSS STREET. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION IS THE REAL DRAW OF THIS HOTEL - HOTEL FACILITIES THEMSELVES ARE JUST OK

United StatesRiff raff hanging out everywhere. Lewd phone calls in the middle of both nights. The room was small. It didn't even have a small table to sit at. One of the rooms the shower leaked. The pillows were awful. The refrigerator didn't work in one room. The floors were sticky. The bed worked for me but too soft for other family members. One of the rooms is for 4 people but only had two towels. The room for two had one.
Close to where we were going. Many restaurants near by.

United StatesNeighborhood is slightly sketchy. Towels were limited and thin.
An older motel with rooms facing onto the parking lot. Everything is a bit shabby, but it's perfectly serviceable. Good value for the money.

United StatesThere were some predatory men next door whom insisted on leaving thier room open, talking loud and being obnoxious for most of my stay. The staff was also pretty cold, I asked for them to bring up some coffee packets and toilet paper one morning, and they couldn't be bothered. The guy at the front desk was very consumed with his title, yet forgot the customer service aspect entirely.
The room was very spacious and comfortable, I was happy with it

United StatesMany homeless people around. The parking lot fee is $25 not $17,5. And it is right next to the street so it is not protected at all. We booked room for 5 people and had just 2 towels. Really bad and slow WiFi connection. There was coffee/tea machine with coffee and tea bag for free to use, but when we opened the machine there was old used tea bag, so they didn’t clean it after previous guests.

RomaniaThe blanket and the curtain had cigarette burns. The wooden furniture was old, so it had a specific smell. I don't understand, as an european why I had to give a 100 dollars deposit, showing lack of trust. At least I got the money back right away.
The location was great, the price is really good for SF. The bathroom was quite clean, but kinda small.

United StatesI included parking in search. That complete price including taxes with no indication there's a parking charge. I gave instructions for a call room and parking. At check in, the clerk asked if I wanted to use the same card for the $20 a night parking fee. No mention of the few at any time. Duuplicitous at best. --- My first night i hung the "do not disturb" plaque. The other three nights I hung the "maid service please" and my room was never cleaned during my stay. --- I understand it's a budget hotel and one of the most comfortable I've stayed. However, my limited budget does not allow me the luxury of "surprise charges."
The property was great. Location was excellent. Front desk very helpful. 0When I arrived, the room was clean, bed was comfortable the heater was a bit quirky but warmed just fine. Needs to be adjusted. Plenty of hot water for showers. Overall very comfortable

AustraliaIt's not exactly the most reassuring location. Seems like it's almost under an overpass, and security precautions make you feel that it's dodgy, but it wasn't so for me. Staff were professional, and it went without a hitch.
It's a classic motel I would say, with rooms around a car park. The room itself was fine, with welcome coffee machine. Beds and chairs were fine, as was the shower. What else do you need? Staff were happy to keep my luggage safe for eight hours, and were pleasant about it. Supermarket very close, and the fridge worked.

United KingdomConsidering all the horror stories in various reviews of hotels in this area we found this all right. Great location within walking distance of the vibrant social district and lots of good food. Felt safe walking around late. Hotel actually exceeded expectations on the location. Facilities themselves old and tired but you pay your money and take your choice!
