Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI didn't like the fact that everything was automated and remotely operated. When I arrived the Internet was down all over Mojave so I had to phone to gain access. Being from the UK that affected my roaming date on my fone.
Location was perfect.

United StatesFor a short time, I could hear loud conversation from another room (someone on phone).
Entry to motor lodge and room were by remote keycode. Inside felt secure. The location is a really short walking distance to fast food (McDonalds, Jack-in-the-Box, Starbucks). Short drive to the Mojave Air & Space Port. While mostly automated, I did run into the building manager, a long-time local resident, in the morning and had a nice chat about the history of the building.

United StatesSize of room was on the smaller size but still nice.
It was quiet, quaint, and very clean with nice upgrades and renovations. The carpet was light-colored but looked very clean. It had a decent size fridge and microwave. Also, liked that it had a bathtub. If you like a private bathroom be careful not to get a room requiring a shared bathroom.

SingaporeNo frontdesk staff, so it was quite unusual. The room is not cleaned daily. No drinking water dispenser. Don't expect too much - it is really more like a lodge than an inn/motel.
Good value for money. Bed was comfortable and room is clean. The toilet and bathroom are shared with others, but it is often kept clean and is well maintained. The room looks quite new and in good condition.

BelgiumA bit disappointed because we had to pay a fee (+/- 40 USD) for being 15 min late out of our room. Knocking on the door by cleaning personnel would have solved this issue because we were ready.
Small town used as transfer area for trucks. Very nice rooms! Coffee available. Very good price/quality.

Amazing value for money we felt. Really cosy rooms with nice decor. The beds were really comfortable and the upkeep was clearly to a very high standard. The options on TV were excellent as well.

United StatesThere was nobody there to check me in. The front door was locked with a key-pad access system. I could not figure out how to access the code to enter the building. I ended up going to another hotel for the night. Get this dump off your website!

New CaledoniaNobody attends lobby, you must do everything online so you need 4G and a SIM card. When we checked in the price was higher than the one we booked ! It looks like some services fees had been added, for which service ? But we did'nt have a choice, booking wasn't cancellable and nobody was here to explain! That was very frustrating. Since then we messaged the hotel via booking.com but did'nt receive an explanation. Insulation is poor so we could here neighbours, cars and dogs. It's OK for a one night stop but next time we would rather stop at Motel 6 for the same price rooms are bigger and you can speak to someone.
Beds were quite comfy. Free coffee at the lobby.

United StatesThe fact that they charge SIXTY SEVEN extra dollars (!!!!) as a pet fee AFTER you make a non refundable reservation. Nowhere in the property description on booking.com does it say that you will be paying pretty much double if you have a pet. It’s so deceptive, not to mention an ABSURD amount. Especially since they already charge a $100 deposit! If a pet causes any problems they could take it out of that. The property itself smelled like stale cigarettes.. tons of fingerprints on the walls.. uncomfortable bed, TINY room, even though I got the “king suite”… it’s obvious that it was a run down old place and someone bought it, threw some flat white paint on the walls, bought some Costco Pendleton fleece blankets and some macramé.. and started charging LA pet fees. 😒 Do yourself a favor and stay at motel 6. Reasonably priced, bigger rooms, and pets stay free! Ps, after I threatened to leave, the manager (through a series of text messages sent via the poor girl who answered the phone) lowered the pet fee to $42. Still a joke, but at that point I had lugged all my stuff up the stairs and I doubted that they would approve a refund anyway, so I stayed. The walls are so thin I heard my neighbor snore all night. Also, to be clear, I listed myself and my small, clean, silent dog when I made the reservation. I was not trying to be sneaky. In fact the only reason I found out about the $67 pet charge was that I called to make sure they knew I had a pet with me (since there is no actual person checking you in).
The price advertised on booking.com ($55-$73 plus tax depending on the room).. Would be great if it were true!!
