Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyLovely, historic inn with a view of Mt. Washington. We stayed on the upper floor of the carriage house and the room was lovely, with a wood decor. There is a common area with an extensive library and plenty of games. The breakfast was good and the restaurant, although pricey, offered a tasty selection for dinner.

United StatesFantastic staff at every step of my stay. Great location - I watched sunset over Mount Washington from an Adirondack chair on the flower-fringed lawn, while sipping a hot cocoa the front desk surprised me with. And the room was very comfortable in all respects, from good bed to a good hot shower.

CanadaWOW!!! What an incredible stay. We were blown away at how beautiful the property was, and the onsite restaurant was INCREDIBLE!! We wanted to eat there every night - and would highly recommend this if you are staying at this beautiful Inn. The breakfasts were out of this world!!! The room was extremely spacious, with an area to read or play games if we felt inclined. The staff and owner was extremely friendly and went out of our way to ensure we had a great stay. Only an hour away from Portland and 45 Minutes from some amazing hikes in the White Mountains. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend staying at this place, we LOVED it!!!!

United StatesIt’s hard to find anything that I did not like. We were disappointed that the restaurant was not serving dinner or the bar was not open on the days of our stays. But this information was not a surprise we already were aware this when we booked or stay.
Everything about this property was visually beautiful. The sounds, smells, and the sights all etched memories that I will never forget about my stay. The staff was very kind. The owners were amazing. They were attentive and hands-on and approachable. The rooms are very comfortable and felt like going back in time.

United StatesWe had a party of 13 for dinner, including 5 kids. The reservation was made in advance. We were put in the main dining room, with a gorgeous view. The kids were scolded by the hotel owner for being loud, which was a bummer for the kids. My nephew commented, "Remember when we thought she (the hotel owner) was nice?" We all found his comment hysterical. I get that kids are noisy, but the scolding incident put a slight damper on an otherwise wonderful meal. Net-net: The moment left us all feeing a little unwelcome. My suggestion: seat larger parties with children on the screened porch to limit noise to other guests. We had a party of four in one room, but were given only two cookies and two bath towels. Not a huge deal, but a bummer to discover at 8:30 at night, returning after a long day out and about in the mountains.
The location was spectacularly beautiful and the inn and outbuildings had a cool design, were clean, nicely decorated and all around had a 'cool' vibe. The rooms were very clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The building we were in was a converted barn with a very interesting layout and unique Alpen-like stenciling. We were stuck in traffic and were 15 minutes late for our 5PM dinner reservation, but the hotel was very flexible with this. The hotel price was VERY reasonable for the value.

United StatesInternet service in the Carriage House was sometimes slow. Better in the main lodge.
Wonderful inn in a quiet, beautiful, rural setting with views of the Presidential Range. Just rustic enough. Hearty breakfasts. Max's exceeded expections and must be one of the best restaurants in the region.

United StatesThe facilities definitely need an upgrade. I just missed scraping my head on the ceiling of our room in the carriage house. The room is in desperate need of sound-proofing. We could hear EVERY step of the guests in the room above us, which didn't make for a restful night sleep.
The venue was beautiful. and the hummingbirds amazing.
