How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Claimed to have cribs, listed on amenities on Booking.com. Upon arrival had no crib for our baby. No cot or crib was provided.

Room was nasty not clean old food in the Refrigerator and nasty the glasses and dirty ice bucket.

There was no hand soap next to the sink and no blow dryer.
Very quiet for being next to the Porsche experience center, the airport and the highway! Loved the decor and Nespresso coffee

I liked the hotel and booked it directly for the day with the IHG application when booking.com would not allow cancellation on the previous day due to me making a booking error even after after communicating with both parties I am out of pocket $300 USD.
NOT the BOOKING.COM experience. I will not be using your service again.

On their booking.com platform, it could be more easily marked that you can have your parking fees bundled with the room at the front desk. Also, my room was also listed to come with a microwave but did not have a microwave.
Staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. The location is excellent in the hotel overall is quite modern and well maintained. I will be staying there again!

When we went for the complimentary wine at happy hour, we were told that the white wine it was locked up and nobody had the key. Bar manager was supposed to come in at 3:30pm to open the cabinet. Bar staff were very apologetic but could not do anything. When we mentioned it to front desk people, they were a little condescending.
Room was very comfortable and clean. Hotel was great. Loved the rooftop.

good hotel shuttle service but it is prioritized for airline pilots/staff. it was unclear from booking app what the intervals of service are— we waited at airport for the shuttle for a bit but ended up grabbing a cab to get to the hotel.

Being charged $30 for parking per night, TV did not work, phone in hotel room did not work (to call front desk), needing to pay $15 to access wifi. Someone tried to enter our room prior to checkout time while we were still getting ready.

gym is basic but ok worst part was that the room was noisy at night - it was like large building infrastructure humming and came from outside our room, it was like a generator was running and it lasted until after 2am only one restaurant option (nowhere else accessible without a vehicle nearby) and they were unable to cope with customers who were all guests so it could not have been a surprise as they claimed that they were so busy. reception staff were not very helpful, both on check in and check out and every query in between - they looked and sounded completely disinterested. they gave the bare minimum info and looked annoyed when we asked any questions.
bathroom products, large bed, spacious room the best thing was the super easy airport transfer and the delightful lady who operated it - by far the friendliest person we encountered when we got served at the bar drinks were good and food not bad

I disliked the lack of a private bathroom and shower arrangement. The toilet was basically a closet. Thank goodness I’m not claustrophobic or I would’ve definitely had a panic attack. In my honest opinion, the beds hurt my back.
